Need Any Help Possible ; Scammed $99

Was trying to purchase 120m for $99. Scammer is a guy named Outdorsman, I think his account was hacked and I went first, lost $99. I have pics for proof, but that's not the issue right now.

He got his hands on my account and I can't log on. So my two problems right now are:

1. Getting my account back safely
2. Getting my money back

Problem #1:
Fortunately, I had all my items in the bank with a bank pin. Unfortunately, he then told em that he was going to "try to get my RS account banned". I keep trying to log on, but it says he's online. I've spent much time on my account, I've literally had it for years, and I don't want to get it banned because of some random scamming kid. Any suggestions?

Problem #2:
I sent $99 to this guy as a gift, fortunately I added no note of "I will never refund" etc transaction. I've heard you can dispute unauthorized transaction and get your money back, so how do I do this? It also says that Paypal will decide if it was an unauthorized decision..and it technically wasn't. No passwords/emails/etc were changed. Anyone know what do do in this case?

i would defo send the recovery form in instantly. if it is accepted and the pass is changed. the second he logs into lobby just to hop worlds it will log the account fully. as for your $99 i'm no good at that stuff, best of luck man.

 

Thanks for the suggestion. I finally got on to my account, I don't even want to imagine the shit he did on it. It won't connect to my friends list, I am expecting the worst. Hopefully Jagex won't ban me outright and I can somehow tell them I was hacked.

As for the $99, I really would like to have it back. Any paypal experts have any tips?

If your banned whilst he had control of the account you can dispute it and all punishment would be removed because of the ip change.
As for paypal there would not be an ip change so the chances of you winning the dispute as unauthorised are very low, id take that hit and just work on securing your account.

 

It's a hard hit to take =\. I was really stupid, I just trusted the guy with 800 posts. I am trying to make it seem like it was unauthorized, by changing passwords/security questions. If anyone knows how to do this well and get money back, please post.

 

How did he get his hands on your account if you were trying to purchase gold? Your explanation is a little vague, but methinks there's something seriously wrong if somebody can get his hands on an account while selling gold.

As for your paypal issue, there's not much more you can do other than file a dispute and hope for the best like others have said. I think you should learn a lesson from this.

 

An unauthorized claim is almost always resolved in the buyer's favor- since paypal's policy states that in order to actually resolve in the sellers favor, the goods must be tangible, and you must provide tracking etc. You shouldn't have any problem recovering the money, but let this be a lesson in the future, and DO NOT attempt to use this method to scam. It's a pain in the ass when it happens to you.

 

This is hte real outdorsman i have been trying to settle some account issues ive been having and it IS hacked i put it on almost all the posts and i asked to be temped. Im using my bros comp but ive been trying to warn people but i guess it did not go through. Im sorry bro FUCK this asshole is pissing me off


what paypal did he use? What msn did he use? Just give some information so i can add it to my recovery. And yes dispute under unauthorized transaction and you should (hopefully) get your money back. Again im sorry that this had to happen, do research on the person your trading with first thats all i can say. Ive been hacked for like 2 weeks but no good :l

 

Thanks for all the replies guys. Long story short, I was being hasty, and a dumbass in order for him to get a control of my account. Good news is, I got it back and it hasn't been hit by the banhammer

I just filed a "unauthorized purchase" dispute with paypal, and I have yet to hear with them. Hopefully things will turn to my favor. Niguhboo, we used skype and his was "fire_bolt36". I'm glad you got him banned, hope you get your account back.

 

For future reference, you can send in an appeal to recover your RS account.
After the appeal is accepted you can go over to the RS forums and post on a thread (I can't remember exactly what thread) and Jagex Moderators kick the players off the account (something along those lines) so that you can have access to it again.

yes u can get their ip blocked from ur account if you wish i believe? And also good that you got your account back . And im trying to get it back just got him temp ban until i sort this out

 

If your friends list wont connect then it means the hacker still has the account logged in, it's just not in-game.

Jagex should see it was logged in from a different IP but so I think they'd be able to make an exception

 

Firstly if jagex sees thats it a different ip address more than likely they will get rid of black marks. You should hand in a recovery request and change the password. As for paypal you could have a shot at getting your money back. Hang on to all information you have to dispute this claim.
