Starting off with Flash?

First of all, is it even called flash or does the language that flash is written in have a different name? Regardless, does anyone have links to a good site I could use to get started with it?

 

It's callled actionscript.

 

I had one where I made a little side scroller game. It's actually what taught me how objects work... well... more so at least.
