Does trump have that much power?

Does he really have the power to Remove and do everything he said ? or does he have to go to court and have the head judge decide and gather everyone's opionions and votes etc...?

-Can he really suspend or remove Immagrants who are already in possession of a Permanent Green card/Legal residents?

-Can he really make every Muslim/Arab wear Special id's ?

-Remove medical/welfare privileges and benefits ?

I know I'm missing alot of what he said but I'm curious if he has that much power..?

 

He's backed by an equally crazy replublican-controlled house and senate. There are no limits to what he will be able to do once he's in the oval.

 

It's hard to go through and answer each one. However, I'd say the majority still must go through legislation (keep in mind both house/senate are republican). Still, there is a lot a president can do without them including most aspects of foreign policy

 

You do realize he isn't sending those with a work visa back. He's enforcing controlled immigration where if you want to work up here you need to do it legally.

 

Even if they're Republican I don't think most of them agree with everything he wants .

 

Are you from the US? He isn't removing the welfare and health benefits, he's repealing and replacing them to allow a lower deductible and allow folks to afford it. With welfare, he's just making it harder to get so it isn't abused -- in my state, our Gov. passed a law where you have to be willing to give random drug tests at any time if you're asking for any sort of state assistance, and essentially, that's what he's trying to do which in theory prevents drug users and addicts from getting that sort of income to spend on their habits, instead, having them come clean before they can.

-No, and he never said he would. He said he would remove illegal immigrants and build a wall, which he later on waivered his opinion on. It is not illegal to be undocumented, only a civil offense. He would have to pass a law making undocumented persons in commitance of a crime, or pass stricter immigration measures more strongly enforcing their deportation. Immigrants who are already in possession of a Permanent Green card or are legal residents have become citizens and are no longer immigrants.

-Can he really make every Muslim/Arab wear Special id's ?
-No, it would be an infringement upon civil rights. He can enforce strict survellaince and make it very uncomfortable for them to live here though.

-Remove medical/welfare privileges and benefits ?
-Yes, most of Obama's legacy was met with strong resistance by the Republican house seats during his presidency, and he was forced to make executive decisions on a lot of those policies. Those executive decisions can pretty much be revoked with the stroke of a pen.

I will give a full response later (currently on mobile), but he is not all powerful; however, he has quite a bit.

There is the factor of Republicans having both houses, but Democrats can still filibuster and there is the possibility Republicans will not continually align with one another and will switch to a dem vote (only a 3 seat difference in the Senate).

The main problem is executive orders. Their power and scope has been increased in recent years both by Obama and Bush and Trump now has the same access.

Also, I would not be surprised if Trump flips on a multitude of his campaign promises. Just today he stated he may keep core components of Obama care intact since he likes them and entire positions I.e. Muslim ban have been purged from his site.

I would expect Trump to become much more moderate in the coming months.

 

In all honesty I think most of the negative things he said about certain groups of people was just because he was smart enough to realize a lot of people who normally don't vote actually share those values and knew he needed to get their support in order to win the election.
