There may be some merit behind his story, but not if you've only botted once or twice before.

The only time Jagex will perm ban accounts attached to an IP address, is when they suspect multiple account botting per single IP address (bot farm). So it's unlikely his friend only botted once or twice, probably a lot more. Or maybe he's extremely unlucky.

 

Sure, Jagex has been "chain-banning" based on IP address for ages.

Is is why many bots have introduced a proxy feature which allows you to bot accounts on separate IP addresses.

If the bots traded/interacted with his main/each other this may have also caused it.

 

That's unfortunate, but never unheard of. My main was banned for rwt when I never even sold gold off of him before :\. I might have traded my main, but I'm still sad it was banned for something like that.

 

Don't know where but Mod Mat K once said sometimes they ban all related accounts if they catch you botting.

 

It says on their website that they reserve the right to ban any account associated with a known botting IP whether or not said account has been botted on.

 

they flagg the ip and it has a high chance of getting banned again, thats why u use preferable pirvate socks5 proxies to use fresh new ip's.

 

Jagex has chained banned for a while now, didn't think this would be concidered "new" in any way lol
