Any pure without 1 defense is completely retarded

Ok, this has been bothering me for a while lol. Honestly, anyone calling any account with over 1 defense "pure" is completely wrong. The account was "pure" because it focused purely on 1 stat. That stat being strength. Then range and mage got thrown into the mix....now we have rune pures, zerker pures....BS. You're just compensating for your shitty skill by throwing in 45 defense! Just my opinion

 

It sounds better on the market if you call it a pure. I agree though, pure used to actually mean that it was pure strength etc., but now it is just another word for a PK account :/

If you go over 1 defence, you're not a pure. It's not unique if you aren't one.

yea, agreed. Glad to see a few people support me haha. Now granted I'm sure it's MUCH more profitable to be a zerker pure due to the higher levels meaning more valuable items lost, but still. In it's purest sense (lol) a pure is usually only strength. All you faggoty children fucked up the term

 

A pure in the last four or five years has meant an account with one defence and lowest possible prayer, but that factor as you said is slowly melting away and we are seeing more and more 'pures' getting 44 prayer - which is a waste of levels in my opinion.

Gone are the days when you could stand in Varrock wild multi area with a team of level 20 PURE mages and absolutely own anything that walked in your path.

Who knows, one day Jagex might get the message and bring back a 2007 server like they did with RuneScape Classic - we can only hope though.

 

Tanks are also a type of pure. If you can't deal with the change of definition, go soak your head.

This is exactly the same as manipulators adopting the name of merchanters. In no way is a tank entitled to be called a pure.

The meaning of tank is high defence (hence tank) and another high stat with it.

The concept of a pure is to be high in one or two levels with being as low combat as possible by having one defence and one prayer.

 

Earlier most people considered pures to be 40 attack and high strength, but things evolve and people found defence a good way of pking, and back then lets say 40 attack 90 strength was much more rape then someone fighting with a 50 attack 50 strength 50 defence. But saying that pures focus on 1 skill and that was strength would mean someone with 45 defence would still be a pure because they would get 45 defence 70 attack then focus on high strength, like the same in the past people would get 40 or 60 attack and high strength.

Completely agree. Anybody with more than 1 defence I don't classify as a pure (with the exception of accidents i.e. 3 def, etc).

 

But there are such things as rune pures (with 40 def).

 

I consider anything under 50def a pure, i don't think you can call anything with high defence a pure imo.

Gurtaton, you're just a retard. Zerk D Beast, you're wrong entirely. Just because you focus on MAINLY 1 stat (strength) doesn't mean you're still a pure. At one point or another, you had to focus on raising that defense to 40. Now before you go using the "oh then that means you're not pure cause you had to focus on 40 attack" bullshit, fuck off. 40 attack was ALWAYS part of a pure. Never added in due to accident then manipulated by a retard. The definition of a pure is 40 attack, the highest strength you care to get, ONE defense, ONE prayer, ONE range, ONE mage, ONE summoning (wtf is this new summoning tank shit I'm hearing of?), and the LOWEST possible combat level. Honestly, a rune/zerker pure is either a pure you fucked up but tried to pull off as a failure, which it is, or a main account you never bothered to raise defense past 45 on.

 

Tankers and runepures are pures too u think, a main with 60 att 99 str 60 def is a pure too in my opinion.
