Marrentils and Tarromins, some sort of secret?

In RS2007, I have seen a few people in my day that will buy 20k or more of marrentil and tarromins from me, sometimes guam, for about 150-200 each. That is even over the market price for them. I am trying to find out what these buyers do with these 20k herbs that I sell them. The guy I sell to now said "if i told you, you would stop selling them to me because you'd be turning such a good profit". Needless to say, he didn't tell me this "secret". I am just wondering if any of you knew what these guys could possibly do to turn a profit on these herbs. I know they aren't just cleaning them and selling them either. Any ideas? Thank you

 

They use them for unid scamming. I used to have mega stacks of marrentil/tarromin when I was going for 99 herb and I stopped selling them off when I caught wind of the scamming.

 

Exactly ^ They'll just identify the good herbs like ranarr's avantoe's irits etc and sell you the guams and marrentils for over triple their normal cost because they're "Unid"

 

They use a client such as tribot to identify which herb is what. There's a nice script that literally labels the name of each herb - I can find it if you like. Most people dealing with herbs unfortunately utilise the publicly available script though.

 

No there has to be some other way. This guy buys 20k of only marrentil and tarromin at a time and he will buy them CLEAN. This means he can't sell them as unid. There has to be some sort of method that we don't know about that would make mega profit.

 

Bulk amount to run a (unf) script. You don't receive randoms when making (unf) potions, so you can run it for a considerable amount of time without receiving a random.

 

This. He will be making potions, running unfs and then adding secondaries, as they are highly unlikely to get a random unless it's between banking the potions and starting to make them. If they were unids, it would be the typical unid scam where they claim it's a ranarr but it's a tarromin.
