Got my purchased account recovered

Long story short, bot an account from a member here.

Not going to go into a long story detailed with pictures of skype messages.
But i bought a starter main that was cb 66 for around 16 dollars.

Played on it for about 2-3 days and it got recovered.
i changed both the Email and password, didn't know it was that easy for the scammer to recover it..

Welp, lesson learned.

Good thing is I transfered 2m to my other account, but bad thing is I spent 2 straight days flipping and botting up to 3-4m ):.

 

Top tip: Do not buy accounts from anyone unless you can rely on them, i mean someone who has gained plenty of trust within sythe.

Get people to train levels on your accounts which you have secured, thats the easiest way to gain levels

I forgot how easily accounts can be recovered.

I would suggest to never buy an account off a newcomer. Around 90-95% are ban evader who are just trying to sell and recover their accounts over and over! Gl on your chargeback appeal.

You think with an authenticator on the account, this guy can still get back in?

 

Yeah, you can contact the Jagex customer support and they can help the original owner getting the account back, for example when you got hacked and the hacker was able to change the E-Mail aswell.

 

Theres around 6m sitting in there and some membership time from a bond.

However, i did setup an authenticator on it.

Yeah the original owner can always get the account back.
Even if you've set everything new yourself and have all details.

 

Have you created a scam report? Also, as stated above, don't buy accounts from people with no reputation and have absolutely nothing to lose when they scam you.

Anyways, your right. This guy wasn't some active forum user, and him getting banned from Sythe means nothing.

 

Report the account over jagex forums. These fools who sell and recover will eventually get their accounts permanently banned for abusing the system, and breaking rules. Tweet Mod reath stating someone recovered the account, he usually looks into everything.

Best approach is make a brand new account, and get it power leveled to your desired stats, and level the account your spare time. That way in itself it's 100% yours. It's the approach I took.


Might cost upwards of $500 depending on stats but it's well worth it if you have the money

Yeah, i think my own impatience got the best of me.

 

This is the wisest approach if you want to have 100% safety. Accounts even from a trusted player may not be safe in the long term as well. You will never know when will that player scam quit which has happened here.
