    Alerts for quotes?

I was wondering if we could get alerts through PM for quoting another person.
There isn't much to explain after this but it would be nice to see what conversations we were participating and how our input is being used.

That could probably be done, but I can't see the real need for it, although I can tell where you're coming from with it. Subscribing/bookmarking to your desired threads is an alternative method of being altered to replies on it. Also bear in mind that people may reply/refer to your post without quoting it.

I suggested this a while ago and it was denied. Nevertheless, support. My argument back then was that it would help if you post on random threads and someone comments on your comment.

Subscribing the thread would show you ALL posts on said thread.
I'm going more for some sort of oragization, like when you post in the "Where did [Name Here] Go?" it would be easier to find a response.
Not only helping in that topic/section, but if you're participating in a Scam dispute, or a debate thread, it makes it more interactive and flowing for the said person participating.

People don't always quote you on the 'where did [name here] go' thread, I myself just post in on what happened to a certain user/where they went, I rarely quote unless the topic of the thread is on another user since that post. Like I said, people don't always quote you, but this could be useful when they do. Either way, I wouldn't take advantage of this feature if it were implemented.

If it were implemented why wouldn't you take advantage? If the feature became available and people knew about it more people would utilize it.

If it wouldn't affect it, might as well open it up for the other members who WOULD use it and would benefit from the expansion.

I support this, it's on many other forums and I do go back to threads sometimes to see if anyone has replied ect, this would just make it easier. It would probably have to be implemented under Private Messages or User CP, but they'll probably just deny it again, they don't see to be interested in any non-essential suggestions that would actually make the forum better.

I actually think this a great suggestion. But, it has been suggested MANY times in the past, and it's been denied each time. I'm not sure what the exact reason(s) were, but if it was some technical reason, and can't be accepted, just subscribe to the threads, check back, etc. But, if it CAN be approved now, I'm up for it.

Ive never seen a forum with it before, but I support, That would be super convenient. I am not sure how, or if it could work though honestly. I don't know a whole bunch about coding forums, but all the quoting is is BBcode I thought, it doesn't go through some database or anything that could track what it said and tell the person quoted? Im not sure, I am quite out of my depth.

The last update for it was in 2012, but there may be a different version out there.
