Another Simple Question: Wireless Adapter?

I had a computer custom built but within the computer it doesn't have the capability to connect to wireless networks? I think that this is because it doesn't have a wireless network adapter built in? (Or so I've been told).

Just plug that into my USB 2.0 Port and connect wirelessly through that?

Please help ASAP I'm in desperate need of knowing, if this is the case I'll go and grab one tomorrow.

Just so I know too, how hard is it to have one built in? For reference.

 

Yes, you can use one of the USB wireless connectors, but from what I know about them they are slower than pci ones.

For a desktop, getting an additional wireless card is quite simple. You need to buy a card like this-

Then open up your computer case, slide this in the PCI slot, pop a little tray off the back of your computer case for the antenna to fit through, and thats it.

 

I use USB wifi cards. No speed decrease. My webapps are actually faster than my PCI-E card. Also, PCI wifi cards aren't manufactured anymore.
