Another Shaman Thread

So EYE (misspelled or emphasis) just rolled a shaman, as well. I have never rolled the class before, know next to nothing about it (in fact the only class I know anything at all about are DPS warriors) and I am looking for some fun leveling and eventually raiding with the shaman.

Please don't anyone tell me that shaman suck like was truthfully stated in the other shaman topic, I plan to roll resto at 80 and will be healing PVE. Not much of a PVP guy. And everyone knows a resto shaman is much better than a DPS shaman, unless you plan to tank with this shaman like a certain shaman in the top guild on my server does in naxx ().

My question is, any advice/help/info on being a shaman? Be much appreciated.

Well I could have easily looked up a guide online, I was just hoping for some personal experiences and advice.

 

Shamans can be quite annoying at times to level, in my opinion, as you always have to set down those effin totems. Your best bet would be asking some end-game Shamans about their own personal experiences, and of any tips that they have to offer.

Ele Shams are absolutely deadly, in my opinion, if you know what you're doing. Some of the attacks have such force behind them, and can tear apart enemies in an instant.

If you're going to level the entire time up to 80, however, and then change to Resto, that might not turn out so well, unless you get some major tips from others, as you'll need some healing experience from Heroics before you can even consider Raiding, as you would never want to be the cause of a wipe.

In my experience, Shamans are hard to level. I would recommend staying a spec you are familiar with, and like. If you want to stay along the path of a dps warrior, then I'd say go ahead and pick enhance for leveling. If you want to go the caster aspect, pick Ele. What I'm trying to say is pick something you like so you will continue to play the character and enjoy it, and don't waste your time by quitting at level 30. Thats pretty much all the advice I can give you. Good luck

 

I rolled shaman not too long ago and he is level 27, they are kind of tedious to use in battle, like setting up totems, casting and such, but they are overall pretty fun. I am resto so I heal and basically if you're resto, use a staff, if you aren't, have a shield, it helps tons.
