Taking a huge step in fitness, i need some advice.

Well basically, I've got a natural big-build, suppose it comes from my old man. But saying that, i'm unfit, i can't exactly jog and shit as i'll get too tired and so on, but please read on, it's more then just getting fit.

As some of you know, or the ones i've been in contact recently on skype i'm planning to travel the world and give my education a break. So what i'm planning to do is take an incredibly huge step, and sell my computer, my phone, laptop, keep my ipod for music etc. save up, and then sort out a daily exercise routine. Obviously not going to stop the weed  .

Do you guys think this is too much? going at it full on instead of bit by bit? what's your views?

Stopping weed would be a start. Occasional sure but if it's consistent then you can work out as much as you like but your lung capacity will never be as big as it could.

I started last week just working out, bought some weights, make some time in the day and do it. Full time you would just wear yourself out straight away.

Get some weights go for a jog and enjoy it. No need to sell your stuff.

keep your phone/ipod/laptop. fuck the desktop, and fuck smoking weed if you're going to really want to get in shape, especially cardiovascular wise.

Yeah man, think i might have to stop the weed. Cheers for the support man :)

If you dont think you can do it then don't. I haven't smoked in like 3 days. Every time I look at my baccy I'm like UGHHHHH need a smoke, I do some weights or game instead to take my mind off it.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :).

As above said, stop the weed because that has a lot to do with your health, instead of jogging why don't you go walking and gradually start walking faster and faster until you're able to do a slow jog? It might take a few days if not a few weeks but I'm sure you'll get there in no time, it's slow but you can't take huge steps in fitness.

    Few tips for you:

Weight loss is ALL about the kitchen. The phrase 'Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym' is testament to that. So work out a meal plan for yourself. You basically want to to cut Carbs and up Protein when you're starting out.

Look around online for home exercise workouts - There WILL come a day when you're like 'oh I cba going to the gym' and you can fall back on these.

Try and torrent P90x, absolutely works wonders for the beginner as its step by step at home where you can follow along.

Try and go to the gym 6 days/week, working at roughly 70% Maximum Heart Rate. To work this out do the following:

    220 minus your age.
    Then 70% of that number.

Have ONE cheat meal per week. Eat as much as possible during this. If you've dieted/worked out for the other 6 days, you've deserved it.

A good thing to start doing is skipping or jump rope you might know it as (idk im australian so i call it skipping) it gets your heart rate right up and is good to slowly build your cardio up, you can start by doing it for as long as you can like twice a day(combining with other exercises like jogging or walking) you'll find you can start to do it for longer and longer. Also good as you dont need to go anywhere to do it.

Sources: myself, ive lost over 23 kg in last 6 months.

you dont gotta stop smoking weed brah. Im on a workout plan i started in april and i smoked every other day and ive been seeing nice results.

if youre trying to lose weight stick to the cardio and a little bit of lifting, if youre trying to build mass then start eating right and lift a lot and a little bit of cardio.

No. You like to fuck you. Have some damn self-control if you really want to change your lifestyle. This isn't going to be some easy step - it's going to be rough as fuck, but so worth it.

The largest dude (I mean he is built like a fucking tank, hes basically the hulk.) I know smoke pot every other day, he still got a scholarship to a known college to play football.

You don't need to stop the pot, but you need to eat healthy and keep up on the protein, never let your core get weak either. I'm just getting back into lifting after a surgery that put me out of commission for a couple months. Since your bigger, i would focus on cardio since it would help you shed weight. Try some hydroxycut whey protein. I have a freind that has a shorter bigger build (not fat, just naturally bigger) and it really toned him up nice.

Don't sell anything lol you just need the motivation man, get yourself a gym member ship and start getting at it, if you can't do that get some dumbells at home and you can run your own exercise even something like doing, pushups, crunches etc.. every night and morning can help you :p
