Minor/Major Macro?

What does Jagex define as "minor" and "major"
How many reports by other players will it take to get one of these bans? (e.g. will just 1 report get them to investigate, or does it take like 3 of them?) Any ideas?

 

I was thinking this a few days back. I am also interested in knowing the difference between the two.

 

I received a minor from a single report when I first started botting (my own actually - I was babysitting like always and I paused a script to report some kid who showed up and started automining in the same place I was because it pissed me off because it essentially halved my gp and exp per hour which make it a waste of time for both of us. I had never botted when I was AFK before then, so I know no one reported me. Anyway, I reported him and received a minor within the hour). So I would assume a single report from another player would be just as effective.

 

I'm pretty sure Jagex gives out major macroing bans very rarely (if ever). They don't want to lose your precious $6/month.
