    FPS Stuttering in CSGO

Yeah... I like playing CSGO... I actually like playing a lot of video games. But I'm noticing some serious FPS buckling in CSGO and I can't figure out why. I'll run from 150+ FPS to ~20-40FPS when turning around in game.

I'm even crashing in FarCry (the original)...

    Probably going to need specs:

Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40gHz (stock) - Aftermarket air cooler
    RAM @ 16GB DDR3
on an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Mobo.
Windows Ultimate x64 on an SSD.
not sure if the G19 keyboard could be causing issues as well.

Now the fun part: The graphics cards...
    SLI'ed GTX 470's.
    GPU Temps @ idle are 60C's :s
    Both clocked @ 607Core Clock/1674 Memory Clock
also have a sound card in between the GTX 470s
Oh... gfx cards are supplying for a BenQ XL2420T and a (disabled at the moment) Samsung P2350

I'm not sure which idiot decided to get dual GTX470's but hey... ^_^
Probably the same idiot that posts in the wrong section...

Umm just ran 3DMark and (starting off in IceStorm:)
    Ice Storm:
    Gfx Scor 261401 Physx: 53859
    Cloud Storm:
    Gfx Score: 49861 Physx: 4944
    Fire Strike:
Gfx Score: 4519 Physx: 6788 (Combined Score 973) - Combined test FPS was 4.53...

When I got out MSI afterburner showed 87C's

Is there any way for me to bring down my GPU temps? >_< Trying to hold out on purchasing a new card until the maxwell series.

Assuming its a desktop, open it up and clean it, that should be the first step.

I clean my comp every 2-3 weeks or so. I literally just rebuilt it from the ground up not even 3 months ago.

Time is not the biggest factor to consider here, it's important but it can't be used on its own.. You should also consider the ammount of dust that is accumulated on your house, the ammount of dust that is accumulated on the place you put your PC, the ventilation, etc etc. All these things put together can make your PC gain a considerable amount of dust in just a couple of weeks, like it used to happen to me.

Either way, going past the cleaning issue, open it up make sure all the fans are working.. Try adjusting them with MSI Afterburner or any other program.

You could also try and leave the PC open and do a stress test with it open, I mean without the side panel, and with that you can check if its a case ventilation problem. If this gives you interesting results, you should try installing a fan on the side of the case.

Starting with the first part, forced the Fan speed up to 70%, drops the idle temps down almost 10 degrees. However, that's locked at 70%... With MSI Afterburner. Temperature stabilized around 44/45C. Down from 55C. - I haven't opened the case yet -

It's funny though... even when I adjust the fan speeds it spikes the temperatures up. I tried adjusting it up and the GPU's jumped up to 50Cs right as I hit apply and the fans started spinning higher.

Anyways with the side panel off, nothing changes too much.

Furmark testing (panel off) 1920x1080 with 8xMSAA: <10 minutes before I hit 88C...
I'll try running it again at 1920x1080 without MSAA but yeah... I didn't even hit 5 minutes...

I have no idea then.. Sorry, good luck trying to fix this.
Those temperatures are very high, you should really get it checked out by a technician

Thanks for the luck. Could it be that I'm running it in an Antec 900 case (PSU bottom mount)?

I mean I know that GTX 400 series cards were known for their heat issues, but this is a little ridiculous that I can't even game basic-level games at the moment...

Would taking off the plastic housing for the graphics cards assist in cooling it at all?

Adding coolers seems like it would almost be a waste at this point in time...

I turned down the clocks and my temperatures went up. I was considering using an airconditioner to completely cool the unit... but that might be severe overkill and I'd be afraid of condensation...

Could be your cpu throttling itself (Changing its clockspeeds to match with cpu usage). Have you tried disabling at energy saving options? (Intel Speedstep)
