"The Interview" being pulled from cinemas worldwide

We're gonna let every Tom, Dick and Harry who can hack computers censor movies now? I mean, I'll admit it's kinda silly to make a movie about assassinating a currently living dictator (and a sensitive one at that) but c'mon, really?

 

Ridiculous honestly. A total over-reaction to drop the movie as well, there's been way more controversial movies made if you think about it.

Was really excited to see it as well, the Iggy & Nicki Minaj interview spoofs made me howl

 

They're still gonna release it, just not on Christmas day.

 

Im surprised it got as far as it did tbh. Id be embarrassed if my generation produced such a needlessly edgy troll, its just disrespectful.

Wasnt there threats to stop the release? I think they should hood the movie back at the most to prevent any movie theater mass killing type deal..like another poster said kinda sucks really wanted to watch the movie, but definitely not in any movie theaters just to be safe. Pretty ridiculous stuff for 1 movie. Hopefully sony will recover or how hilarious would it be if they made even more money from the publicity lol.

all im wondering is if they were able to pull movies early why the fuck didnt they do that to nacho libre?? smh... that was a terrible movie..

in all seriousness it's not actually sony's fault, movie theatres wouldn't play the movie because of threats they received. seemed like a funny movie, hopefully it actually is released at a later date.

 

Just watch the clip on youtube that lead to its removal. Also, I'm quite sure Sony will 'leak' the movie online in due time regardless.

Movie is being released on youtube for rent and on sonys site in 30minutes u can also buy it. Be a patriot and watch it!!!

Yeah independent theaters are getting it. A local theater is showing it tomorrow.

 

While Independent theaters are showing it, Youtube will also be "renting" out the movie starting tomorrow (I'm not sure how long they're renting it out for.)

It was quite a silly idea to start with. However, even as disrespectful as it is, it should be released.

 

This. Movies are multi-million dollar projects, surely at some point in development, the issue of politics interfering with the movie should have been brought up.

I'm assuming the "Ban" will end up making the movie more money in the end, similar to the Red Bull "gives you wings" false advertising lawsuit.
