    An interesting take on religion

This was written by my good friend Sam a while back. He's no professional writer or philosopher, but I have always respected him for his mind.

I think this is very thought provoking and worth a read.

Yes, it is a wall of text.

I have absolutely no objections to this paper. I see it exactly as your friend does.

It is only human nature to question whether or not god exists. Questioning it will make it to clear to god that you are of moral judgement and choose right over wrong. God's Silence and God's failure to combat evil in the world thus proves that either (a) god is testing our moral judgement. (b) god is nonexistent. (c) god is evil.

In turn, being naive and believing in god without no proof but the bible will be considered immoral and untrustworthy.

I'm glad someone read this and got something out of it.

The sheer size of the text might be intimidating, but it's worth it.

    Interesting read.

I get what your friend is saying, however, that doesn't make it any easier for me to, knowing my original beliefs, go on with my life believing in something that in the bottom of my heart, I acknowledge it as a theory, with no facts backing it up.

I'm not sure if this is suppose to be a debate, but the "essay" was good, and that was my opinion. :]

I enjoyed reading it. The paper is common sense hands down. If you want to get anything out of it, you have to acknowledge that the possibilites are endless. When it comes to a "god" that is. If you don't test a theory then there is no theory. Because, your theory is based on self-belief and opinion. He was very brave for submitting such a essay. I'm sure he recieved some criticizm on his work. Very beautiful piece of work.

Atheist think that religion is like this, be good you go to heaven, be bad you go to hell.

Its not as simple as that, we don't know anything, for all we now god can put bring people to heaven who done bad stuff, its not up to us, just have moral believes, whether you believe in god or not, at the end of the day your better off, if you follow the rules, whether they are the rules of society of the rules of religion.

I myself, follow both, religion and the rules of society.

    Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

    Titus 3:5
he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy

The worst of sinners can be taken to heaven if they believe in Jesus.
Nothing that is done by man's hand gets us to heaven, but by God's grace he lets us in.

What if someone lived in a society that does not know of god? Will they go to heaven or hell? Even if they had no idea who god or Jesus are, are they still going to go to heaven if they're a good person? And the declaration by mouth thing, what if you are deaf and mute? Where do you go? Is it really possible for a deaf and mute person to go to hell just because they have no way of confirming their belief that Jesus is the savior? Please answer as the text answered none of these questions.

Did you READ the passage I posted?

If you did you'd know why that cannot be right.

I agree with the point that people are not going to be infinitely good. To learn to be good, one must see the effects of being bad in themselves.
