I know a little about Laptops and I have seen the Aspire One in action.

With the following requirements, what recommended laptops can you find?

    Processor: Intel. 1.5-2.0Ghz
Ram: 1GB RAM (2 being max)
    HDD: 80GB HDD
    Graphics - Not important
    Sound card- not important
    OS - Not important.
    Must have battery life, 5hrs+

    Cost approximately: £150 - $220

Looking for an ideal laptop/notebook for college.

Five hour battery life is a hard feat even with most new laptops. $250-300 can get you a used or refurbished Toshiba, but you'll only pull 2-3 hours on the battery life. You could always get a spare battery and swap them between classes.
