An honest review of PlayerAuctions

I am a Verified Seller on PlayerAuctions with 100% feedback spanning nearly 8 years. My sales total in the low five figures. I hope that my experience with PlayerAuctions throughout the years will shed some light on some of the most asked questions.

Normally customer service from PlayerAuctions is nonexistent but it has improved greatly with @PlayerAuctions on Sythe.


Is PlayerAuctions worth it?

From my experience, yes.

Is PlayerAuctions safe?

Yes & no.

Just like any marketplace website, users are at risk of being scammed. I've had both good & bad experiences with PlayerAuctions despite being cautious. Unfortunately there is very little oversight on the PlayerAuctions platform which only enables scammers. It does not take much research to find someone who has been scammed on PA.

User discretion is absolutely necessary in order to avoid scammers. I would recommend avoiding any new users or anyone without solid reputation.

Should I buy insurance?

Absolutely not. Unfortunately it is -extremely- rare for PlayerAuctions to issue a refund to a buyer - regardless of the circumstances. I've personally seen a case where an individual had their newly-bought account recovered and disputed the case. Despite no response from the no-feedback seller, the resolution was ruled in the favor of the seller. Insurance is simply a money grab and provides no extra security for buyers.

PlayerAuctions and League of Legends

Throughout the years I have bought and sold dozens of League of Legend accounts on PA. Unfortunately, there is a current trend of large numbers of cracked accounts being sold, unbeknownst to the buyer. This has unfortunately happened to me on dozens of occasions and I am simply forced to just write it off. A new trend on PlayerAuctions is the selling of accounts that are unable to have their passwords/email changed - essentially a cracked account provided to an unsuspecting buyer, who then has absolutely zero ownership of the account despite paying for it.

Thanks for this. Maybe remove the part where you say you were no longer interested in using PA because you disagree with their fine because it starts the whole review off with people thinking it'll be biased. Maybe leave it to the end idk.

Never used PA because of the insurance where the buyer never really wins.. Sorry about your situation hopefully even though you don't plan on returning @PlayerAuctions will make your situation right.

 

can't recall names but i wouldn't trust people with reputation on pa too, as i very clearly remember some "trusted" user reselling same accounts like 10 times and not getting banned, which leads me into assumption that the scam quit may last for months before you realize it's happening

 

I've heard similar things in the past about PA and have stayed away. Good to see the words reaffirmed by a long time PA user.

I find the whole platform a bit strange for the sort of business we conduct in the market - might as well go on eBay if you're going to bother with PA.

I've had terrible experiences in the past with account recoveries, even with verified sellers with tons of rep, so I just decided to stay away from them in regards of buying any type of account

Not sure what you guys mean, I registered Dec 24th and have done a few thousand in sales, I find myself losing more disputes than I win (as an account seller)

Also my friend told me this, if a buyer claims the login details don't work even when they do, the seller will instantly get suspended from PA and their disbursements held. Apparently there is no tolerance for this and it's impossible for the seller to defend themselves.

Overall it's a good site I would highly recommend it, if you do research as a buyer I doubt you would ever get scammed.

I got some suspicious activities on my paypal account 2 days after I made a transaction on PA. I had a problem quite a while ago where my paypal account was actually hacked and someone purchased random stuffs with my paypal account. I didn't know where my account information was leaked from, but now I'm really suspicious that PA was the cause of all those paypal problems since I've never used my paypal account other than PA recently.

Sorry but this type of accusation is ridiculous. Making a transaction on PA with your Paypal account does not enable them or anybody else to "hack" your PayPal account. You never enter your Paypal login/password outside of PayPal.com when paying for something on PlayerAuctions.

PlayerAuctions has some sketchy practices going on with account sales, but they are not hacking your PayPal account. Specifically, any company which sells "insurance" for Runescape accounts is basically trash. That is because there is no concrete way to determine if an account was recovered by an Original Owner or not. Furthermore, the method of qualifying for insurance is never clearly defined in the ToS and therefore insurance is simply a flat out scam.

 

Mostly good experiences tbh. The fees are a killer though.

 

Their insurance is a scam, account i bought got recovered after a month, they asked no questions and just closed the dispute in favor of seller.

also they force u to pay with bitcoin and will not refund the btc right away. i tried to buy 2nd acc but without insurance this time, they rejected my payment and asked me to pay with bitcoin, so i bought bitcoin on this volatile market. i paid for that acc but seller cant deliver the acc so the order was closed by PA, it took them 4days to refund my btc, i lost 9% value on that btc. also the gocoin gateway they use charge more bitcoin than the value. for example it will say 63$ with all extra fee included so pay 0.xxx in bitcoin but in real that xxx value will be 66$ in blockchain.
