Amount of Money Scammers Make

Well, I haven't seen a thread about this and it's very interesting to me. Of course not because I intend
to scam-quit, but it's amazing to see how many people joined around my join date & slightly earlier &
slightly later who have ended up being banned for scamming. From what I understand, it appears as
if many people ban evade as well but hide it.

Now, you have someone like "Karter99" who was my first & only friend on Sythe. We bonded a bit, did
some stuff together & then he scam quit. It was something insane like 300M+ and despite only being
a few months here, it was obviously easily done & could have been alot more. It's no doubt that from
what I can see, this type of scamming is a huge problem whenever I've clicked old threads in
RuneScape sections & such, the OP is usually banned, lol.

Now my question is, if you had a scammer like this who's doing this once every couple months, I think
they would be profiting into the billions, easily. With that being said, I really urge everyone to come
together as a community and always make sure you request private messages, check the discords,
don't deal with people who have ToS's that can bend you over, don't trust people with tons of gold,
pick your battles. It's always BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!!!

Compared to what they would have made sticking the course and becoming a bigger trader, it’s nothing.

 

There are many different tiers of them but i don't think this is something that should be discussed to give peoples ideas.

 

Everybody who is doing it is probably some of the same people ban evading.
If you have a heart of a scammer, this post is not going to change anything.
Someone with the intentions to scam WILL learn how to do it.

By the way, the 'sticking around' and bigger post may be true if you want to stick around and be a bigger trader.
I've made like 60M tops from this website since I joined because I have legit work and I'm not active in the market.

If I ban-evading and scammed 1B over this whole year, I'd probably make way more by doing this.

I ain't about that life though, but it's sad how easy it is for people to manipulate this place.

Well yeah easily.

What I mean here is people like Karter. I'm sure it was his whole game plan to scam.
It's amazing how easy it can be to get low quality vouches, turn those into false trust, and scam for lots of gold.
If Karter did this 4 times in a year, he'd have 1.2B that I would have been able to count.

It's probably much higher than this.

You see this with alot of users as well, couple months in, scam-quit, ban-evade, repeat.

I wish there was more we could do as a community and a market to stop this from happening.
