USA block holidays

Hi,

can anyone give me the rough dates of USA summer holidays?

planning on doing some traveling june-oct and it's been advised to flee during America's summer holidays (people and prices are x2 etc).

couldn't get the right info from google, thanks heaps.

Fathers Day -- 3rd Sunday in June

2011 - Independence Day - July 4th (This is a big one.)

Labor Day -- 1st Monday in September

Halloween -- October 31 (also a fairly big one)

These are the main ones that I could think of. There are obviously other holidays between this time period, but nothing that would really affect your traveling.

Colleges are usually on break from early/mid May till late August.

School breaks depend on the region your in. For example for the East coast the break is genereally from Mid June to Early September and in the South from mid May to early August. Of course there's always private schools who might have completely different schedule.

Your best bet would be to travel in September/ October if your trying to avoid school kids.
