Furthermore how are you able to know if someone has sent a personal payment to you via paypal.

No matter the amount
No matter the description
No matter the notes

If you don't want to risk getting a chargeback, just don't use paypal.

 

Yep, gifts and such other bullshit payments owed, payments with note about virtual transactions can be chargebacked. If you plann on selling GP or some vitual ingame item/account use playerauctions.com , they cover chargebacks for you.

 

is there any alternative to paypal to use? i see people using stuff like western union.

Western union is safe however in WU trades someone has to go first or use middleman. However WU payments can be cancelled before they are picked up. After they are picked up there's no possibility of cancelling/chargebacking it

Pick money then give gp to buyer. However I highly doubt anyone would go first to you. Fees depend on amount. You can calculate fees at westernunion.com

If you're trading people like R2Pleasent, Nytrix, Arcus, h1j2q3, oblivionrage, mmorpg etc etc payment method doesnt matter at all. You wont have problems with payments from them

It doesn't matter how the payment is sent if using paypal the buyer can always file a chargeback. Anyone claiming otherwise is ill-informed.

 

They don't charge it back, they send you notices to stop accepting MP as a payment method and threaten to close your paypal account and/or limit it. If you provide receipts as proof of purchase or a picture of the back of the card they don't bother you.

 

Anything can be chargebacked, just depends whether you can win it or not.

 

Yes but I read paypal will usually only accept the first persons claim and if they do it a lot in the future they won't.
