Help me find a mini fridge

Hey, I'm looking for a mini fridge so if anyone has one/has any good recommendations I'd like to hear it. I was googling it and it autofilled "with lock" after minifridge, that'd be cool I guess. If it locked I could stash stuff in there.

So yeah. A locking mini-fridge that works well and won't die, $100ish budget, but I suppose I could be tempted to go slightly higher if I saw a benefit in doing so.

 

Anyways non locking normal ones retail for $100 - 150

you're probably not going to find one with a lock feature for under 200 though.

 

Myself personally I would probably just cut a hole in the door and the side (not penetrating into the refrigerated part) and put a padlock on it from the dollar store.

Or you could use a hinge-type lock and make your own lock for it.

I've seen them from like $40 to $600. That's why I'm looking for recommendations

I've already found a few, just seeing if anyone has any specific preference.

 

I have one that I no longer need from when I had roommates. I suppose you can have it if you pay the shipping. You'll just need to buy freon and put it in. Doesn't have a lock though.

secondary idea: buy a minifridge and put your own lock on it

two little latch pieces, some screws, a lock and wallah

Yeah if it work out with lean I'm going to jimmy rig a lock onto it somehow. Looks like I already have to go to the store early to fill it with cooling agent or whatever..

 

Make sure you review the make online for noise before you buy - the few I've had (names escape me) have been really noisy and I've just turned them off and thrown them out.

How do those even work, can't tell from the picture.

 

Put the "sucker" type things on with the provided adhesive and padlock them together around the door (one on the front and one on the side).

 

That's what it looked like, but I thought that had to be wrong. Feels like you could just rip those off?

 

id assume that they're using some sort of extreme adhesive that can only be removed with excessive force

 

Yeah, a person couldn't pull them off without some sort of aid or something to crack open the rings. A sharp knife might work, mind you. But it does seem like it wouldn't be easy, since they're suggesting it for labs.
