Question Regarding Account Upgrading

Hello.
I was looking at the Upgrading Membership section and had a question I wanted answered.

The Rules say they do not Allow PINS can someone better explain to me what that is?

I'm interested in becoming apart of the business and would like to have a better understanding of it.

You can upgrade the account yourself but you can't sell the pins. You must go on their account and apply the pin yourself.

You are allowed to sell upgrades (which alot of people call PINS anyways), but the "pins" you cannot sell are the ones that can be charged back I believe. Surfpins, PayByPhone etc, SMS pins etc.

If you are selling something like a gamecard or UGC, those are prepaid and cannot possibly be charged back. Alot of people (myself included), make the mistake of calling the codes "PINS" which can get a bit confusing for everybody.

I think this is pretty accurate, but if you PM a market mod they will be able to answer all of your questions about PIN sales

 

You can sell those types of ugprades.

It's pretty bad, I'm confused to. You're allowed to sell upgrades thro paybyphone but you're not allowed to sell the PINS without upgrading them by your self on peoples account.

 

Thats the Idea i got from it.

Im Starting up an Upgrading Business so i figured i might as well make sure i have everything checked out. Since the PIN seemed a little confusing at first.

 

Some of these explanations are comical..

A majority of the memberships people buy on this forum are Pins. Sythe simply made it so the discussion of pins isn't allowed. A strong majority of pins are from pin lines which are indeed illegal and if they were being sold on Sythe it could cause legal problems. In turn, the new lingo is "upgrades" which could mean a variety of methods of upgrading (UGC etc.) You can buy pins off people, but it needs to be kept off threads. Ex: If you buy a pin from an upgrade seller (and you vouch) you need to vouch it as an upgrade. This is usually avoided since the seller goes on your account/uses team viewer to apply the upgrade.

I could be wrong, but I was a member of the forum when the switch took place and I'm pretty sure those were the reasons why.

 

Hmm I guess this can be a confusing Topic for new members like myself.
There should be a post or guide Explaining this in Detail for Inexperience users.
