Lureing 101- What is a lure?

According to the dictionary, a lure can be defined as a decoy; live or esp. artificial bait used in fishing or trapping. This is exactly what a lure in this sense is. You and a partner or two will be using an item, trade, or sale to trap other players and killing them. So one is probably wondering, â€œHow the heck do I ever get a person with party hats into the wilderness? No one is going to be that stupid!â€ Well, thatâ€™s a good question and the answer is quite tricky, however by the time you reach the end of this guide, you should have the answer to this and many other questions you might have. So letâ€™s get started! First you need your basic materials. For all of these lures, you are probably going to want the following items in your backpack:

Sharks are the best option for food. They heal 20 hp each; you shouldnâ€™t need more than 10, but bring more just in case. The only reason you should need these is if the ice effect wears off and they choose to fight back, or if they bust your lure and come prepared. The runes are for Ice Barrage, an ancient magic spell that one needs a magic level of 94. You can use any of the ancient â€œiceâ€ spells and you will need to re configure your runes to fit them, but as long as you can freeze the person, the lures should go according to plan. The Dragon Dagger Super Poison (also known as â€œddsâ€ or â€œdd(p++)â€ ) is used to knock the person out. The special attack is good for a quick kill, so the freeze effect will not wear off. It also helps just in case they have a teleport, but donâ€™t have time to use it. The whip, finally, is used in the case that the Dragon Dagger doesnâ€™t kill them. It gives you a great strength bonus and is perfect for people with armor. The three potions are a â€œSuper Attack (3)â€, â€œSuper Strength (3)â€, and â€œSuper Defense (3).â€ Also known as a â€œSuper Setâ€ they increase your combat stats greatly and help knock your opponent out faster. If you get busted, you might want to have a teleport on you, however I did not include one because it would just be easier to pray and run. Prayer potions are also optional, but I have very high prayer and I do not include them in my lures. I suggest you bring 100+ ancient spells, just to be safe.

This is the typical setup because you get a great mage bonus and a slight defense bonus. You do not have to use this, you can basically use any armor that gives you mage bonus, but this is a lot easier to kill people in. Other equipment could include:
Â· Full Ghostly
Â· Lunar Robes
Â· Regular Robes
Â· Staff of water (for ancients)
Â· Ahrimâ€™s Robes
Â· No armor (not suggested)
Otherwise, basically, any armor that gives you magic bonuses. The ancient staff gives you a great advantage because it allows the auto-casting of the ancient spells, which allows you to have your hands free to get ready to make your move, rather than constantly casting the spells. I suggest, if you can, to use this item, it could make or break your lure. If you happen to miss-click, and click outside of the wilderness instead of clicking cast spell, you will mess up the lure and blow your cover. That would not be fun, however this staff is NOT required to lure.
