    Almost passed out today running

    I am trying my best to run farther and farther every 2 day regardless of weather

    I am doing this for my cross country team at college

    I drank 2 powerades , had a muffin, 2 bananas and thought I was good to go

    I tried to push myself to 3miles since it was a little over 95 degrees but felt like 102 (weather.com)

    I live in California

    During my run, about 10 minutes in I felt a bad cramp in my side, 2 minutes later I threw up, then to make things worse, I started getting blurry vision.

    I had to run only 2 miles and when I made it home, I threw up again and now I can barely do anything.

    Almost passed out today running

    might have been so I took half a powerade and mixed it with half of water and just downed that and will retry running at 6am tomorrow

    Almost passed out today running

    Don't go jogging right after eating; it might result in duodenal and intestinal damage (lol, exp). Go jogging in the morning before breakfast or on an "empty" stomach. After your workout drink some milk or eat a boiled egg; just try and get some protein and rehydrate yourself. That way you build muscle and don't push yourself too hard cuz it's always better to under exercise than to over exercise (from exp.) And Good Luck!

    Almost passed out today running

    Don't drink that sugary crap called Powerade or any "drink" that isn't water. If you want to run farther and actually burn calories drink water. It has 0 calories and is essential for muscle recovery etc. Trust me, run everyday, drink lots of water (2+ Liters a day) (4 bottles), and watch you get lean and healthier!

    Actually by running in the morning before breakfast, your training your mental endurance, but this is just from my experience. Always, listen to your own body but differentiate between mental and physical agony. It's usually the mind that sets the limits.

    I can understand that. I decided one day to just push through everything and actually ran 7 miles. This commercial made me at least try to push more miles in.

    One More

    I usually water down powerade so that I get the nutrients after exercises and water throughout. I need to drink more water still

    You just sound dehydrated with a little heat stroke mixed in. Running 7 miles in the hot heat is going to make you sweat like a rapist, so even bring a small water bottle with you just to help yourself cool off while jogging.

    Don't drink powerade, that is a recovery drink. Try running earlier when it isn't so hot, and if you downed all that water/powerade right before you run it will make you feel sick. Hydrate all throughout the day.

    like my sergeant hydration starts the day before. Just because you jugged 2 poweraids doesn't mean your good to go. drinking too much water is just as bad as not drinking enough water. Try to drink a good ammount of water each and every day, Always hydrate the day before and continue the next day.

    This is actually pretty good. I used one of these last year when it was hot, running by the beach. I'll go dig it up, haha, it's very hot right now, thanks for the idea!

    Try not too push too hard when your running.

    1) You could be dehydrated
    2) Too much sugar
    3) You pushed yourself too hard, do you stretch before? Do you do a light jog before beginning?
    4) You could have had a heat stroke.

    I think the reason why you're having a side cramp is because of lack of water. You need to drink more water. If it's hurting you, don't run, try walking instead.
