Suicide; what is your view?

What is your view on suicide?
Is it the easy way out, or is it one of the hardest things to do.

Is suicide selfish? The idea that you're so rundown to the extent that euphoria is inexistent and death to oneself is the way out, yet killing yourself will have an effect on others; loved ones, friends, family. Imagine how they will feel.
Or is suicide selfless? The idea that the world will be "better off with out you" so in truth what you're doing is for the good of others.

I'm not sure what my view on suicide is, I have never considered it myself but I have known others who have thought of it and have been extremely depressed.

However, I would never consider suicide myself.

 

I don't consider it selfish, no. However, I do think it's usually an action taken by the weak. Death is much easier than life. A split second of pain to avoid or end a temporary problem? Weak.

Though, there are extreme and very rare cases that I can understand why the person has done so, but it's still not a path I would have taken.

 

It is the easy option to spare you from a sad life.

Suicide is selfish, but should be accepted in my opinion. It's your life, you choose what to do with it.

My view,

Suicide is like a "Shut down" button for your game.

Your life is your game.

Do you want to reset it, Do it all over again and do it right?

Or

Do you want to shut down, Forget everything, Lose everything and start a new game all over again?

I myself, would rather finish my game and reset everytime I make a mistake.

 

I'd never even consider suicide myself. Life is all that we have, and to me that is sacred. But I don't look down on people who have commited suicide because obviously they were in a very bad place, and it was their choice. It would be better if they wouldn't commit suicide though.

 

I consider suicide selfish because those who do it are only thinking about their problems and not about the impact their action will cause on others.

They are looking for a solution to their problems without thinking about the potential suffering of the people around them.

 

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

 

Not selfish. I think it's their choice, but most people give up too easily.

 

its not really selfish, but alot of people have taken their own lives before hitting rock bottom, honestly once you hit the bottom there is nowhere else to go but back up.

i would never consider it because i cant put my loved ones through that whole thing again

 

I'm against it personally. I know people must really go through a fucked up period to have to resort to something like that, but yeah, everyone can be helped one way or another.

 

What about people who were abondoned by their parents ?
People who are homeless ?

my view is that suicide, like many things, should be viewed within the context in which it occurs
