Here's the story:
Today, I was eating my lunch. With my lunch, I got a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I was eating it, talking to my friends and stuff, and basically just having a good time when this fucking annoying kid (who happens to be deadly allergic to peanut butter) decides he wants to sit at our table. We have a specially designated peanut/sea-food free table in the other corner of the cafeteria, but only 1 or 2 kids sit there. So anyways, out of the 12 people at the table, 7 of the people had either eaten a peanut butter sandwich or some of the Snickers Ice-cream bars they were selling or something containing peanut butter.
This kid, who thinks everybody likes him, wants to sit at our table. I don't want to move, because I'm eating my lunch - and I sure as hell won't get up for somebody because of THEIR allergies. The kid decides to be a dumbfuck and says "well, I'm going to sit at this table anyways" -- great. We all tell the kid to leave, because the table was basically contaminated with peanut butter, and while we hated the fucker, we didn't really want him to die. Then, he leaves and instead of finding a new table, he decides to be a little bitch and speak to the school principal because we were "bullying" him.
Two of my friends and I were called into the office, making us miss our lunch AND part of our next period free. Basically we were given 2 hours of Saturday school, from 8-10 a week from tomorrow [THANKSGIVING WEEKEND
]. I can't go to New York with my family (if we don't go, we get suspended). I'm obviously going to have a meeting with them on Monday, but I'm one of the school's best students - and have a perfectly clean record.
So, there are two parts that I want to discuss with everyone. I am NOT asking for stuff like "sucks" or anything, I want to have a reasonable discussion.
1) What do you make of this?
2) Do YOU think people with allergies should get special privileges? (ie; people sitting at a table MUST move to make room where the person is not surrounded by peanut butter)
3) Should there be a punishment for NOT giving them these priveleges? (I don't mean INTENTIONALLY sitting down and rubbing peanut butter all over the kid, I just mean like not doing him any favors).
I myself have no horrible allergies, so I really don't know what to feel. But I don't feel any regrets for what I did...why the fuck should me and everyone who was eating peanut butter have to move all because ONE kid can't be around the peanut butter, and there are specially designated places for people like him?
