Is everyone getting richer?

I remember back in 2007, when I used to have maybe 10-100k at a time in my bank. My uncle used to lend me dragon items so that I could train faster. I always raged when I lost full bronze and stuff.

Now it seems every player has a decent cash pile. Has everyone gotten richer on Runescape, or am I just not noticing the poor players anymore?

By everyone, I mean everyone.

 

The amount of gold in the game has increased substantially which gives everyone an overall higher cash stack.

 

There are poor players, but due to SO much GP being put into the system

Bots, gold sellers etc.

Everyone is gaining alot of money.

The largest factor is Bots.

 

There's still a vast amount of poor players. Nowadays, nearly EVERYONE bots or does some method of goldfarming.

 

Now there are easier ways to gain cash then there was before. Also, markets like sythe.org have grown substantially which makes it easier to obtain large sums of gold for cash.

 

Besides what has been mentioned above, there are many new ways for new players to earn RSGP relatively quickly.

 

Well look how advanced bots are nowdays, this makes more people botting.

More goldfarmers, etc.

GP used to be like over $5 per mil, now its 50 cents.

 

can't believe your uncle played/plays.

Now more people are buying gold from sythe, gold4rs etc.

.50 a mill is a bargain compared to what it used to be.

 

My uncle is one of the biggest nerds I know.

He stole from my dad irl (his brother) though, for that reason we don't talk much. He knows that I bot too, so he doesn't like me for that (he's 100% legitimate).

in 07 the average "Rich" person had a mage mage/str set (whip/dds/ahrims/mage book/master wand/full dharoks) and maybe full dragon.

Now you have 2 have a phat and fucking torva to be rich

More GP in circulation, more players acquiring GP.
There's no way of controlling the amount of GP brought into the game either. Since botting has rapidly increased since the release of free trade, there's now even more GP in the market. So most players appear richer.
I'd say 1m [old rs] = 20m [current rs]

back when there was pvp worlds level 90s would be loaded because they killed green dragons since they were level 70.

however i never keep my money because i invest in skills/gear that allow me to do more in the game

 

I remember my old main I picked flax for two days straight and bought myself all dragon weapons, I thought I was the shit. When I hit 1 million coins I was like wow...
recently I sold a couple bill that was gained gold farming multiple accounts and it didn't wow me at all lol. I just thought imagine if I played i'd be rich.
Then I looked around and everyone was that rich with phats and torva and max this and that.

 

I wish I got into botting and real world trading a lot sooner. It would have been nice to be rich and have good levels back when Runescape was at it's best in 2007.
