There IS most definetly life out there, but we will probably never find it, and by the time we do we'll be dead. The signals sent to other planets would take years to reach, by then we'd probably have evolved into a different species altogether. No record would be made and the aliens could only reply or come, either way it'd be thousands more years.

I love how the majority of you are envisioning aliens as these great beings with light speed and ninja skills.

Sending out 'signals' to other planets in search of life only covers a very small fraction of the life that could be out there. These 'signals' are only targeting civilization with technology powerful enough to interact with these signals.

Not even that, but civilizations with technology to parallel ours. It could be an entirely different story; the technology of other life forms in different locations in space are either too primitive to translate and receive signals, or too advanced to even have a use for signals.

As far as the physical side of it goes; Carbon is not man made. Therefore, I believe the logic of it would be that carbon could be anywhere in the universe. Therefore, more times than none, there could be a lifeform that is similar to ours, in that it is carbon-based.

When you make paper, you put atoms together, essentially. When you rip paper, you take them apart, essentially. To a certain degree. Splitting atoms and taking atoms apart are two entirely different concepts. However, the basis of both could be used in whatever type of 'teleportion' you're talking about.

I might be mistaken, but didn't our kind already discover worms on Mars? As well as wood?

Space exploration is the equivalent to a very well detailed racing game. There are few factors.

    The car.
    The fuel for the car.
    The strength of the car.
    The dynamics of the car.
    The driver.

    @Mahtale –
    What!?!?

If I ran 186,000 miles out in one second, and then ran it back in the next second, arriving at the stop I had originally started from, it would be the same time, plus 2 seconds. Time will not have stopped. I will not have aged no more than 2 seconds. Simple.

Teleportation is feasible, actually, just the science and technology behind it is beyond us in our current state.

It has been agreed amoungst highly acknowledges scientists that other life forms in space almost certainly exist, the likelyhood of us seeing them in our lifetime, very miniscuel.

The only real possibility of it in my oppinion would be if they were to invade us. Which could be a possibility, that some alien life form be collonising the universe as the europeans did the earth.

As for not travelling the speed of light, this is also a well know "theory" the universe and what we know about it changes all the time, after all the world "was" once flat and humans "knew" of the existance of gods. I am aware of the laws of nature that forbid reaching the speed of light, but science is changing within 100-200 years views may be different, or if certain science such as stem cell research was looked into immortality could be a possible option.

Why do you dopey motherfuckers think wormholes would teleport you to any location you desire? Hurr durr, they aren't really a gateway. They open random points in space and time and they can not be controlled. Also, they will most likely pop out of existence in a few nanoseconds because it takes a lot of fucking energy to open and maintain one.

TL;DR go fucking read a physics book.

Nobody knows for certain but it is very possible. There has to be life out there. Life can be made out of anything. Also, why would aliens want to come see us? Look at humanity.

Tecnically yes, they do drop out very fast, infact i think it was something like if you zoom into any object incredibly far its just constantly creating and destroying worm holes.

Scientists do think though that eventually itwould be possible to enlarge one big enough to enter. It is also thought as basic knowledge to most people that worm holes can take you to another part in the universe, i can't remember teh reasoning behind it but it was on TV the other day, something about space-time being a belt in a circle and if you were to pierce it you would go to the other size of the circle.

I stopped after this. You apparently know nothing about space.

Also, so I don't get infracted for this post of nothing in SFA:

A couple months ago a man was giving someone $20,000 USD for flying to Saturn's moon Titan in a one-way trip there, because there's not enough rocket fuel in the pod. Of course, he didn't find anyone willing to commit suicide for 20,000 to their family, but he used fuel, to get to a place more than halfway across the Solar System from us. Of course, it's a one-way trip, but it's not like Aliens couldn't have a fuel that lasts a million times longer than the most efficient fuel on Earth. They'll still have to go back, but they would have the ability to fly around looking for other life. Doesn't have to be completely energy free.

i think they could have a very quick transportation method, and could get to our planet
plus, who says that they must be so far away, their couldve been a colony on MARS imagine that.

plus all those ufo sightings and supposed government alien intellignce couldnt all be a lie in my opinion.

    Exactly what he said.
If you seriously believe that were the only ones in this entire universe then wow.. I feel bad for you.

What makes you all so sure that 'aliens' would have more advanced techonology than us?

I completely agree with you. But just for sake of discussion what if they could travel through black holes or some more advanced method? Although for all we know they don't even exist so We probably wouldn't be seeing any of them sometime soon.
