i'd like opinions from people who really know what they're talking about bot wise. what i mean by that is that i'd like the opinions of scripters/people who bot alot/know scripters. i've heard mixed opinions. some say they don't know. others say it will have hardly any impact and that simba will be back right away. some say bots will go away completely. some say it will only take out injection/reflection bots. some say it's going to direcetly target color bots. what is your guys knowledge of this? not just random opinions, but educated opinions. thanks.

If you look at the previous nuke and consider that the prices of gold experienced only a minor increase. It is my opinion that the gold market will only be effected in a minor way, but the in game market could be effected quite a bit. Look at the bots. Injection is barely back on it's feet and it is still working on getting up to full force again. Color bots are damn near impossible to destroy. It would take an entire redoing of the mechanics of the game for it to significantly effect the color bots, and even then it would be a very short time for them to recover. The only way to eliminate color bots completely would be to destroy the game for legit players, because color bots play much in the same way that normal players do in a sense. Well, that is besides the obvious choice of changing the game to a forced client download.

Unless Jagex have a new way to stop colour bots, the gold market will not be affected in a huge way.

yeah i agree, the only way for them to change it would be by making it a client only game, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the browser based mmo and all that.

GP went from 0.35 to 0.65... that is a major increase. Keep in mind the price increase is never instant after a nuke because the gp is still in the economy. It is when you give it a bit of time, like a month, that you will notice the increase in price because by then most of the botted gp is dispersed.

Unless they find a way to stop color/shape recognition bots, then I don't think this bot nuke would be very successful. I think it's mostly aimed at the remaining injection bots, like Powerbot and Epic bot.

Optimus is basically a series of mininukes. It will break injection/reflection bots for awhile, and then as soon as injection/reflection start working again, they nuke it again, and the process will repeat as such. e.g. Optimus nukes, bots break, bots fixed, another nuke, etc.

I doubt Jagex will do much to do with graphical updates, because they know that Color bots can easily be fixed after an update, and the money and time they spend to make those updates, is not worth it compared to the time that the color bots would be broken. There really is nothing Jagex can do to fight color bots on as mass scale, except for improving their detection systems, and even then that would only affect Simba/Scar/Runedream/Runeshark/etc. RiD already passes Jagex's automated detection systems as human, so I'm almost completely certain that if Optimus includes an upgrade to their detection systems, RiD doesn't really have much to worry about. If they do make upgrades, this could mean some trouble for Simba, etc, however this will call for scripters to make improvements to their scripts to compensate for the upgrade.

I'm a gold seller, and this nuke will definitely raise the price of GP, but not as sharply as the first nuke. Injection/reflection is easier to use/run and can often get longer proggies than color, so once that is gone, obviously the remaining bot farmers will be forced to use bots like Simba to do so, which is a little more difficult to run on a mass scale than injection bots like EpicBot, and takes more time to learn to script properly to keep the banrates low. One of my gold suppliers actually just had 5/8 of his private unf potion Simba bots banned after running them for under 8 hours a day, after just a couple of weeks. If stuff like that continues to happen to others after Optimus, or if it happens more often, perhaps due to a detection systems upgrade, then that would lead gold to rise even more, due to the increased difficulty in mass botting large amounts of gold over long periods of time.

I'm going to assume that gold will rise from .6-.65 to .7-.8/mil again

As far as I'm concerned, this will make the prices of RSGP rise.

It did last time, it will again.

I do think that colour bots will remain though, its going to be a bitch to ever get rid of them.
