Contest wants a poster-sized, 800dpi document for entry.

Is 10k+pixels really realistic for the dimensions? Or am I doing something wrong :0

    Thanks!

If it is being printed it shouldn't be anymore than 300dpi because that is standard printing size... 800dpi is crazy...

Yeah it's taking forever for anything to load on PS. Seems rather unrealistic. Ah well. Oh and it is a poster, not a standard 8x11 paper. My apologies.

Even if it is a poster it shouldn't be anymore than 300dpi. Do the people running the contest know what they are doing? haha

At 800 dpi 10k pixels is about average and unless you are rocking one hell of a computer then you are going to be experiencing major lag. You might be better to start it small scale and scale it up to do the details.

What sort of a poster are you making? You could try using vector graphics, so you won't have to worry about the size, at least not when you're making it.

Yeah that doens't sound right. Unless they are purposely trying lag you out for some joke, you should definitely go for 300 and leave it at that

Or, you can create separate sections at a time ;)
