I'd personally go for it myself. I used to stay clear of and of my friends ex's, but now it's hard for me to meet a girl who isn't one of of my friends ex's. How ever, this your best friend, ask him/her if he cares about you having sex with her. If not.. Happy days

You'll probably be fine then, you shouldn't mistake the first time for love or anything as its not your first time

If she is young its pretty possible she is bi but isn't sure about it. I would probably do it because she is probably testing the waters with men and seeing if its something she likes. She probably likes you and sort of personifies you as the good in males, so if she has a good time then you have a pretty good chance of getting with her.

 

She may be bi-curious (bi-curious meaning she is curious about the opposite sex). I would go for it, I've done something similar in my lifetime with friends who I was pretty close with and we're if anything still great friends today. My guess is she sees you as a friend she knows and can trust with anything, go for it mate, you never know where you'll end up

 

It sounds like you both have strong feelings for each other. I would just try it out, as both Laptop and Annex said, she may be bi-curious, and wanting to experiment with guys. It wouldn't hurt to try it out.
