Shed Lure

First of all, i dont even know what this called...

Some idiot tried to lure me earlier, but because I'm not a retard, I didnt fall for it. I'm pretty sure this needs 2 or more people to work. One guy has a large sum of money and asks if you want some. (in my case, he said i could have 30m because he was quitting). He then tells you to bank everything in your inv, and then proceeds to give you a whole bunch of random items. Next, he gets you to follow him west from varrock West Bank to a shed (near barbarian village), and tells you to enter it and then drop the items he gave you. I don't know what happens next because it seemed to fishy and too good to be true.


Anyways, does anyone know how this works? I'm just curious--I can't find anything on YT on this either.

Oh and watch out for someone with the rsn "mrs care"

 

I don't see this being a lure. That shed is just an entrance to the edgeville dungeon and you can't die there unless you were to walk to chaos druids which then you'd be in the wilderness and he could attack you. Maybe he wanted you to go down there and be attacked and killed by hill giants? The items he gave you would've most likely protected over what you were wearing, that's all that I can think of really.

 

You dont see this being a lure?

"Hey, (shows inventory) here's 23m. I'm quitting. You can have it if you want, but first you must bank your inventory, take these items, and follow me somewhere"

Cool story, enjoy the infraction.

 

If you've banked your inventory (presuming you're not wearing anything valuable) what is there to worry about?

 

Thats the thing. Thats what I'm puzzled about too. It's an obvious lure, no doubt about that, but there has to be some kind of reason for that. I for one, was not going to take any chances.

 

You maybe over thinking. He had nothing to gain by killing you with nothing on you character.

I actually fell for this earlier, I tried to outsmart him by dropping my stuff outside then clicked a teletab I got like an idiot and lost my fury.
if I hadn't missclicked I could have made money off him ._.

 

I don't get it though.. how would you lose items if you bank everything you own?

 

Its part of the 'talk', they gain your trust by making it look harmless and that you can somehow profit from it. After that, they tell you to get your stuff.

 

Oh yes, i saw a video of this the other day them getting like 30m or something because the guy didn't have to key to go back out and get his stuff off ground.

 

What are those tickets? I'm assuming when you click those tickets is how you get people to teleport away from that shed. Did they tell you to drop your item?

 

Yes, I was told to.

 

Someone tried to get me with this yesterday ha. Offered me 12m to drop my 2m cash inside and give him the items outside...and he tries to decline when you are pressing the teleport tab he gave you so that you tele away and he gets your gp.. And one of his friends is pming you telling you how to "Scam the guy trying to get you to drop your stuff" When he is actually his friend and trying to make you feel safe.

 

In EoC you can get those scrolls from treasure trails, and it can teleport you to various places where normal tabs usually can't get you close to. Such as Tai Bwo wannai (or w/e it's called) in Karamja, phoenix lair etc.

Those people in the video Heads gave were stupid enough to drop a phat and think nothing of it? I never have, and would never, drop something like that. If I did, I'd pick it back up within seconds.

 

Were you wearing any valuable items? I don't really get how they can lure you if they tell you to bank everything and then give you random items.

 

They expect you not to bank your armour I think, then they'd get the cash from that.

 

How come these people can`t tele back fast enough to get their items back? I mean they'd only have to tele back to varrock quickly and run back to the shed, it's not that far at all.

 

This is actually called the key lure, or hut lure involves 2 talkers, explaining the lure/how to anti it, ends up with you dropping the item and teleporting yourself away, takes about 80 seconds to get back
my clans made over 20b with this, have lured alot of high profile players. its very easy to fall for.. only saying this as the method is rapidly dying and the script therefore is almost worthless
EDIT:and mrs care was the idiot who got the lure exposed on the HLF.. so yeah harder to get people now

 

Thats what I can never understand... I've lured before, but how on earth do they find people stupid enough to drop phats on the ground?
