Addicted to gambling on and off rs

    Made a lot of money with runescape on RS2 2012, (100k +).
Made a lot of money on 07 past 3 months (30k +) (skill stakes, luck stakes...).
Last month i've been getting bsed alot on and off rs. Losing big bets in the casino. Losing a lot of big stakes on runescape and always losing with like 3 hp. hitting a zero on that health or just pid losses on redbar. That triggers me to buy more money and just gamble it again.
Sometimes i'll go blackjack huge amounts aswell and just lose.

I'm still up a lot but i wish i could just quit everything involved with gambling, like rs blackjacking etc.
I've quit rs before for like 2 years and i was fine without it. Now my friends do a lot of sports betting they win and lose a lot its just seeing them bet makes me attracted to it again.
I know that i'm addicted right now and I would like to just stop it all before i lose all of my money.
    Anyone got some advice?

I used to work in a Betting shop and I've seen this problem so many times, I do understand how hard the addiction is.

For the Runescape bit I would simply quit it if it's causing you stress, it's not worth the energy.

For irl gambling: Are you from the UK? If so you can go to every betting shop and request a sort of 12 month ban (legally bound contract) that makes it if you step into any shop they will have to remove you and you won't be able to gamble in their shops (not just the shops in your area you can choose to be banned from EVERY shop)

Not sure if casinos have a similar thing but maybe have a chat with them?

If you still fancy a bet, force yourself to limit your spending and doing things such as only taking a certain amount of money you're willing to lose or leaving your bank card at home.

I really do hope you solve your problems and that it works out for you. Once again if you're from the UK I can recommend a few gambling hotlines to call if you ever want to clear your head.

I've been in the exact same boat, except I didn't make a lot of money from it, infact I'm down a lot from going to casinos and such to the point I signed out of the casinos all across where I live for a year, and force myself not to touch any sort of online gambling as I legitimately can't control it. The only part where I feel I've been able to control would be a $20 poker game at a friends house. As for runescape and gambling, I know I can never play RS again so I found a new game to play (CS:GO) and love it. Runescape was always a massive roller coaster of emotions and just isn't worth it at all, as I can go from up 2bil 07, lose say 1 50m stake and i'll chuck everything, then yolo any kind've gambling irl/online, never ends well.

TL;DR Banned myself from all casinos for a year, don't gamble online at all. Play $20 home poker games for my fix & find a new game to play/hobby.

You're still in the denial stages of your addiction. Or at least, to the point of conveying that 'hey yeah, it's bad.. but I'm up' part of it. I've known a few people who're still struggling with this addiction many years past the stage you are currently at.

Your best course of action is a drastic one. However, it will help.

You will find that your wins are meaningless but the rush of losing what you can't afford is where the real high is. This is essentially why a gambling addiction is so dangerous. Also the fact, that other people can only know what you tell them. However, a gambling addiction is one of the most destructive addictions a person can have.

You first need someone close to you that you can confide in. Confess everything down to the absolute truth. This person will have to be able to help you financially. Which means they will be in control of your assets and financials. You have to release all control and rely on a very steady budgeted income set on your minimal needs whilst you pay whatever debts (if you have any) and build a financial float. Whether or not you chose to gamble this small budget will be up to you. However, you'll quickly learn that gambling it isn't the better choice and you will slowly remove yourself from it.

Gambling is a choice. However, the addiction it self is very dangerous. You may palm off my post like I don't know what I'm talking about. But so long as you are aware of how dangerous this addiction can be then the message has been worth it.
