A bad account seller

So I bought this account from a guy I met on craigslist. The account was recovered by his friend who was the original owner of the account. However, the seller was able to recover it for me again with everything intact. However, I was trying to log on today and I couln't. Im pretty sure it was the right password. The thing is, jagex would send me an email if someone tried to recover the account (I registered an email on the account), but no emails came.. and I simply cannot log in. I am also sure that I have no keyloggers or visited no harmful websites, so how can this be?

i recovered my account so thats taken care of, but I still want to know how this guy did it without letting a email notification come to my mail box.

 

Jagex won't send you an e-mail if your account is recovered..

 

if your email is registered they still wont send you a email only if you try to recover with your email

 

This is true, and when this shouldn't be true he migth changed the e-mail or something.

 

nah. they did send me an email. this wasnt the first time this guy did this because last time he did it.. an email came to my inbox, saying that someone submitted a password recovery for my account. I could have canceled the request by copying and pasting a code to the link given.. but I read it after the guy got the account back.

 

Doesn't sound legit. JaGex only email you if you email them asking questions or if you purchase membership I believe.

It could of been them playing tricks on you.

 

i have never heard of them emailing you like that , i have received countless fake emails from "jagex" claiming i can be a mod etc.. click this link and login lol.

 

I am 100% sure that it comes from runescape.com though because I have submitted a password recovery to get the account back several times and just right after I submit an appeal, an email is sent to me with a link to the official runescape page. You know how some of you register ur emails on your account, and they send u an email to cofirm it.. just like that.
