- With all of this, I still do trust Viet, and I think he's a good guy and he has been responding to me regarding the situation, but it doesn't take 24 hours to find an email password. I understand we're all busy with IRL things, but there should be some sort of urgency when something like this happens. I'm not posting this to throw Viet under the bus, I still think he's one of the more trustworthy members on Sythe. I'd just like to resolve this.

- Also in the screenshots you can see that he said he'd refund me on the purchase price of the account, but I've also invested some money into the account. (Rigour + 74 prayer). I'm not sure why this account was locked, unless someone tried to recover the account. (Viet said he is the original owner of this account, so the only person who could recover should be him, correct?) The account's email was totally changed, which also indicates an account recovery. I'm not really sure what to think about this because it just seems to be a bit fishy.

*** With all of this said I'm not posting this to throw shade, or throw anyone under the bus, I'm only posting this to get it resolved quickly. I'm still not sure what happened, but I'd still like to be compensated for the purchase price of the account , + the 85m I put into the account for Rigour. Viet is a good guy, and I'm sure he would've come through without this report, but this is just a precautionary report.***

Going to refund TimeCrunch in his original payment of Zellepay $600 USD tomorrow Monday, September 10, 2018, he has my cell phone number.

 

To the mods:

After some research, I've found that Zelle is like Paypal - and users can issue chargebacks after they send payments. ( Zelle scam - chargeback after WEEKS : localbitcoins )

I'm not saying that this will happen in this case, but this whole situation is extremely fishy to me.

Runescape accounts don't get locked for no reason. Someone had to of recovered / attempted to recover this account in order for the account to go under the suspicion of being stolen. I've had the account for almost a month, and I was the only person on the account.

@Viet clearly has the account in his possession, shown here: Imgur - The email the account is currently on is the same email used to login to the account. This shows that the account is in his possession. He stated that he needed 24 hours to recover the account, but the account was already on his email. He then said that he needed to find the password to his email. (Doesn't take 24 hours regardless of who you are, or what you're doing).

I honestly believe that this account was recovered by @Viet in the first place. He hasn't provided me with recovery info, so I have no way of recovering myself.

- am I obligated to accept the refund in the original payment sent to him? (upon his request) or can I request a different form of payment. As stated above, I don't trust Zelle.

I'm accepting a refund of the account, but I want it in my terms since I'm the one at the loss here. (not to mention the loss of 80m+ spent on Rigour & 74 prayer).

I understand shit happens, but this just isn't the case.

- It doesn't make sense that he'd decline my request to be paid in 07/BTC. If he's going to send me a refund, for an account in his possession, it should be in my preferred payment method. That is all.

This is actually untrue, accounts can and do get locked without people attempting to recover them. Also he is refunding you through the same payment method you used paying him-he cannot be forced to pay in a different method this is all reasonable.

If that's the case, shouldn't I also be reimbursed for the 85m I put into the account ? I can understand your reasoning behind saying that he cannot be forced to pay a certain way, but at the end of the day, I'm the one at a loss here.

After a long day of thinking about this situation, I have decided that I will NOT accept Zelle as a form of repayment.

- since I bought the account, and it’s legally mine, I either want the account to be returned to me, or I want to be refunded via 07 Gold. Once again, I will NOT accept Zelle as a form of repayment.

~ Yes, I paid for the account Via Zelle, but that was upon @Viet ‘s request. I would expect @Viet to honor my request as I did his. & to be quite frank, I’m not sure why this has to be blown up into something bigger than it is. He has something of MINE in his possession. Why should it matter if I’m repayed in 07, or Zelle? It’s $600 either way, and I should be able to choose the form of repayment as he did. ~

 

I am not going to refund you in any other form of payment than Zellepay, the payment method you used to pay me in the amount of $600, after further investigating I came to this conclusion in refunding you because I don't have access to the email account of the login. I've already put in a recovery request, if successful sure you can have the account back but after that I will not hold liability if the account gets locked again. I didn't recover the account if that is what you're assuming, my only logical explanation is I purchased an infernal cape a few days before I sold you the account, too many variables to investigate, I am willingfully open to refunding you $600.00 USD via Zellepay on Monday, September 10, 2018. I'm not sure why you're declining a refund.

 

sorry for posting, just noticed something that may be relevant,

Although video is right regarding jagex locking accounts due to IP changes they do not revert email changes.

There is only two ways to get it in that state
(i.e. showing old email + showing the "locked" message)
either:

• buyer didn't complete email change and the account is just locked by jagex.
• or seller recovered the account and didn't set a new password.

I am unsure if it will help resolve this case but may shed some light on how the account was locked if time crush did in fact complete the email change at point of sale.

 

Spoke to @Viet about 30 minutes ago;

He successfully recovered the account, and has it in his possession. Just to refer above, he has stated quote:

If I were to accept the account back, he's already stated that he wouldn't be responsible if the account were to get locked again even though he is the OO. He also states that he came to the conclusion to refund me via Zellepay because he doesn't have access to the account or email. As you can see here: Imgur he has confirmed he has the account in his possession. At this point, there really is no reason for him to decline my choice of repayment: 07 gp.

Look, buddy. I understand your "social life" is more important to you than satisfying your customers, but you're honestly making this harder than it should be.

YOU have the account fully in your possession. YOU can resell the account for whatever payment method you want. YOU are the one who asked ME to pay you in Zelle. I had never heard of Zelle prior to our exchange. I will not take the account back from you since you're not offering to help if the account gets locked in the future, and I will not take Zelle from you. At this point I don't trust you anymore. ANY other person in your situation would take the time to communicate, and go out of their way for the buyers satisfaction. I'm not asking you for extra money? I'm LOSING money. I already invested 80m+ into the account with a prayer scroll.

Why do you have to be so difficult?? I literally don't trust you anymore.

Yes "buddy", the account is in my posession. You can have $600 back in the original form of payment (Zelle) or you can have the account back without further support, I am not going to re-sell the account because I don't have access to the login's actual email, therefore in the future this issue may arise again. This is a lesson learned for me to re-sell a account I don't have full control over, this account won't be in the market ever again unless you choose to take it back and attempt to resell it.

We will wait for Sythe Staff's response in the situation.

I have never declined to refund you the original amount ($600) except paying you in a different currency (BTC, 07) other than your original payment method (Zellepay).

@Time Crunch you will have to accept the payment in Zelle. You cannot claim that the method is a chargeback risk when it is the same method you used to pay him. Should something go wrong with his payment to you then surely you could just chargeback your payment to him.
