RuneScape is dead

I did not play RS until yesterday, for 10 mins. But explored today and went around, and saw that this game is just a joke, lol. Seriously, there are only bots, and even those talking are probably botting too. I remember the general store in Lumbridge to be filled with stuff and people, selling, buying and trading. And before the main door to the bank in Lumbridge we only have goldsellers...

Just wow

 

Actually bots are somewhat controlled these days. But its mostly because there are not many new players

 

I went to the chickens and the goblins lol, found maybe 2 legit players. They do not even pick up raw chicken to cook, bones to bury, coins (!) and other random drops to sell. That is not how I remember new players lol

 

That is only in F2P.
The bots usually wont make it past 24 hours, so it is rare to seem them do other things with higher requirements.
There still are alot of bots, but not as much as you think there are.

Only thing I wanted was to get my mining and fishing stats up so I can go and fish and mine some stuff, just for old days nostalgias sake..

 

To be honest, you are right. More Solomon updates than normal ones. It's pathetic.

 

Ive seen huge progess bots wise, a few month ago it was crazy, now there seems to be a lot less, over time I think they will all be banned

 

Still doesn't help much tbh. I am a real RS veteran and last week was my last day playing RS.

I am fed up with Solomon and the TH bs. They shove it down your throat, not even mentioning that real updates are few and far between now.

 

yeah much of RS has turned into this. Quite stupid if you ask me. I also gave up on this game. used to be hella fun

 

The worst thing is that I don't even enjoy OSRS either. Its like: Why would I start all over again? I am a veteran...

 

The Solomon Store in general was a terrible addition to RS3. RS3 has gone to be a completely different game, and the split between 07 and RS3 has weakened the RS community by separating their player base.

 

I quit RS years ago and when I came back few weeks ago, there was no bots. RS is pretty dead compared to back then, though.

 

Runescape 2007 is dead because there is little to no drive on bringing new players to the game.

 

Games like runescape just arent the type of game people want to play anymore.
Games like lol etc have taken over as runescape is a simple game and many years ago that was all we had. As for solomans, your right it is a joke but has nothing to do with osrs.

 

everyone was a noob back then, the majority of people that play now played back then but arent a noob anymore, ppl arent gonna sit in gen store when they got a ge now and arent clueless

 

It died when they stopped free trade. Hasn't recovered since.

 

Imo not true, for me it died when bh target was stopped. And free trade was re released

 

Runescape really isn't dead, the game just isn't like how it used to be for a multitude of reasons, some being: Inflation, Grand Exchange, Abundance of Resources, etc. The game is not lacking highly-leveled players like it once was in the past, and because some previously populated areas are now empty, doesn't necessarily mean that the game is dead.

 

I actually really enjoy Oldschool Runescape, I feel it has enough to keep a lot of users here.

The popularity may have decreased but those who are still here make it worth your time being online.

Also, you don't really need a busy game in order to achieve the levels and targets you may want to achieve as your account is your own account.
