Title says everything. Currently driving a 6 month old Corsa but I'm feeling an upgrade and want something a little nicer, maybe flashier.

I am likely to go for a second hand car, not a brand new one like my Corsa which I got for £8700 with a £10000 value. I'll easily get £6000 for a trade in anyways.

Currently thinking of getting a 2009 Audi TT Quattro, about 30k miles on the clock for about £16k. Insurance isn't too much on an issue as my Dad owns a broking firm and he will pay for it or I'll just get insured on the Business fleet. Plus I'm working as an insurance broker till September so I can sort it myself anyways.

Throw me some of your ideas, black/white are likely colour preferences. I live in the UK by the way, £17k budget. Many thanks for the help!

you don't want to get a used luxury car since you may run into problems later in the future. you better off just buying a honda/toyota luxury car or a acura. You should not get a luxurious car unless you can afford paying for insurance because apparantely, you need your father's to help pay for insurance but managed to afford a Audi at 16k-17k? Not to mention that it will cost a ton of money to maintenance, replace any parts from an Audi and gas consuming. You're only going to schoo/home, home to work, home to resturant, home to friends house, or home to grocery store. You will typically find these cars driven by older people who retired or have a lot of money but you really don't need an audi to show it off and someones spoiled kids too.

If you want a luxurious car, buy it BRAND new and not USED. They're called "luxurious" vehicles for a reason and buying a luxurious car as a USED simply means that you shouldn't be buying a used luxurious vehicle in the first place.

I picked honda and toyota because they are reliable car manufacturers. Get a RSX, TL, TSX, and Toyota Supra, Volkswagon jetta, and maybe the GTI.

Cheers for the few ideas. The insurance won't be an issue, adding me the the corporate fleet will cost under a grand and I still live at home until I go to uni in September, Dad is more than happy to pay the insurance as he already pays my current one.

I get your point about the issues in the future which was why I'm only looking at reliable brands (German manufacturers are fairly decent) and a car which has relatively low mileage. Didn't Toyota just have to recall another like 20k cars because of a braking/engine issue?

Will definitely have a look at some of the others you suggested, I'm a fan of the GTI and I guess I could get one of those brand new.

Thanks for the input though, and I don't need my father's help, he wants to pay for it and through the firm I can get huge discounts so would be daft not to. Money is Tennis prize money from the last 2 years. Not using the money I've earned through working my job.

I've got the same thing with the corporate fleet, but if you have a car worth over a certain value sometimes it can push it up to 2-3k.

If you're wanting an Audi Quattro, don't get a TT, get an A3 S-line or a A5 Sportback, you'll find it a lot better in the long run as you won't be driving a glorified Mazda MX-5.

For that sort of cash you can get a pretty nice porsche boxster S, I bought one for £5200 not too long back, that was decent for a while. For 17k you can pick up a nice BMW 5 series, that's probably 2009 or newer. Focus ST's are also a nice car for that price.

IDB - I know what you means and did consider the S-line, looks a really nice model.

Him - Still unsure about a saloon BMW, not sure I could see myself driving one at the age of 18 ;L However I do Live both the 3 and 5 series. Driven the Audi A5 a few times, which is a company car and it's very confortable and I could probably find one in the price range. Still found it felt very big considering as I've only been driving a Corsa up to now. Not sure how big I want to go. *That's what she said*

Boxster S, I looked into too and it would definitely be pretty fun too, I was struggling to find one post 2006 for a decent price though so I was worried that there I would run into some technical problems with it after a while.

Cheers for the suggestions though guys, I'm considering all and it is opening my eyes a little more.

BMW 335i M-Sport "07" reg with about 40k miles on the clock for 11k + you might be lucky and find one with a decent aftermarket upgrades. You get power (pretty much the same as the M3) and luxury

Not gonna lie, that is a sexy car. 0-60 in 4.6 as well, so definitely got the power.

07 and 40k might be an issue if I run into problems, as I know BMW parts are pretty expensive as my Dad has to change some stuff on his old 3 series.

I agree especially this : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-335i-...7218048?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a2f00f400 (reason so high is because of extras like the added body kit etc etc)

And I agree they are expensive but if the car is serviced as it should be and kept in good nick you shouldn't have any problems?
