Explanation of trade: On January 23rd 2024 at 1.49pm AEDT I purchased an account from Ace and the transaction went smoothly. After some discussion we agreed to change the registered email to mine (I wanted him to keep his email attached in order to claim hijack incase the account was banned down the track). The registered email was changed to [Redacted] which I have possession of. After the sale I changed the password of the account and was able to log into osrs. On Sunday 4th Feb 2024 at 9.43pm AEDT the account was locked due to suspicious activity. I followed the 'recover account' prompts but was surprised to find that no email was sent to [Redacted] from jagex to reset my password. I immediately dm'd Ace to see if he could help out. Ace responded at 10.27pm saying that he would but since it was late for both of us he would look into it the following day. At approximately 11am on Monday 5th Feb I try to login to the purchased account using the same password and I can see that the account has been recovered by someone as I'm now seeing the 'incorrect username or password' error instead of the account still showing that it is locked. I have asked Ace if he knows what has happened and if he has access to the email account login username but he has not been helpful whatsoever and is insisting that it's my fault.

*I have noted that on Sunday 4th Feb at 4.19am AEDT a password request change was sent to [Redacted] which I had not requested. I believe that whoever requested this has successfully recovered the account and is the reason why it was locked to begin with. I even gave Ace access to [Redacted] so that he could look around.

if it locked by the original owner he will not recovery any messages account locked at 12:43 maybe before this time too .. he got message on the outlook email at 4:19 so its after the locked thats mean he still have this account also he deleted this message from the general emails to deleted items and didnt say anything about this message to me i got this pic when he give me the outlook email .. also he cant delete it cuz outlook system saying items in this folder will be deleted in 30 days

Honestly mods I'm not trying to be critical or dickish but I think there's a language barrier here and I suspect that Ace doesn't fully understand the situation.

Yes, when I originally purchased the account the intent was to always bot. In my experience higher level accounts receive less reports, are less suspicious = last longer before ban = more gp, to which I made clear. The reason why I wanted him to keep his email registered to the account is the same reason why people pay insurance. When the ban inevitably hits, I have a get out of jail free card. Ace wasn't comfortable doing this so I had the email transferred.

None of the above however has any impact on my current situation. Mentioned in my previous post the account I purchased from Ace was locked on Sunday the 4th of Feb at approximately 9.43pm AEDT. The following day (today) it was successfully recovered. I know this for a fact because the login details that I had been using were no longer working and instead of seeing the 'your account has been locked due to suspicious activity' error I instead saw the 'incorrect username or password' message. The account in question is still showing on the hiscores and I'm tracking the xp and KC.

I have asked Ace to follow this up several times to which he mentioned that he would contact his IRL friend to get it sorted but to my knowledge he hasn't done anything or even attempted to recover the account on my behalf.

@Ace Services I'm sorry if I've jumped the gun here but earlier this morning our DMs were turning ugly and I didn't know how else to get this resolved. I still want to get a positive outcome after all of this.

 

24h from now if u didnt get the acc back ill pay u ill cover this money better anyone saying we scammed anyone sorry about the discord chat too maybe i didnt undrstand 100%

@President I have used plugins on the account but no it hasn't been banned. It was locked however and then someone has successfully recovered it. I'm monitoring the account on temple osrs as it's still visible on the hiscores.

I've seen that you've redacted a lot of the above. PM if you need anything from me.

 

The sale was less than a month ago. In principle we have the mandatory one-month warranty rule that overrides ToS on Sythe (barring situations where an account has been banned). You (@Ace Services ) mentioned being unable to assist the customer for an extended period because of your friend being in the military. Not being able to assist during the warranty period, where the client is entitled to help - regardless of the reason - is an erosion of such the warranty.

Given that @o v o admitted to using plugins, I won't insist on a refund. However, if you cannot assist in recovering the account promptly, a refund will be necessary. Please work towards a solution with @o v o, considering these factors.

 

Since I cannot reach the original owner currently because he is not available, I am offering you a 70% ( 780$ ) as refund of the amount, as I will not be able to access the account until after 9 days. And you also used bot / plugins on the acc so its will be risk for ban too when we can recover it

 

According to precedent, a reasonable period to unlock an account is 7 days @Ace Services

If you are unable to recover the account in that time period @o v o will be owed a refund
