    1 Bump per 8 hours on your thread to the front page but if what happens if someone comments or ask a question on your thread 2 hours later?

    Do you reply back to them with an answer which will bump your thread to the front page even if it hasn't been a full 8 hours yet or do you have to wait til 8 hours before commenting on your thread again?

    What are the rules for this? Can it be reported if you see someone doing it?

    That's odd, maybe the rules were slightly different at that point. I don't think you're going to get in trouble these days if you're actually answering a question on your thread. If you respond with "added you" or "@User Yes, still looking guys!" then you might get infracted but otherwise you should be fine. I'm sure you'll be waiting for a staff members opinion on this but from what I've seen i think you're alright.

    You can answer questions and it's not counted as bump
    Excessive bumping is when you'll for example ignore 1 post and say bump in less than 8hours from your previous post.
    You cant respond with 'added' it's counted as bump as this post didnt require your reply

    2 years ago the bump rules were quite different from what they are now.

    Now days, anything that's obviously a bump (saying bump, saying PMed you in reply to someone, saying "added you", etc) will result in an infraction. Replying to a legitimate post and/or question is not considered excessive bumping.
