Does anyone else use Magicgoldseller on playerauctions? something fishy.

as much as they are fast and always efficent, i find it strange and highly uncoinsidental that as soon as you've literly came out of the trade window theres someone mailing you saying 'you need to trade back for items to avoid rwt before your order is complete' or something along those lines. at first i was like, meh someone bought gold and followed the guy and is pushing their luck, but thats the third time and the second character wasn't even in the same world.

my theory, do they just sell gold then hope apon hope you trade it back like a dummy for them to have proof of the trade and therefore recieve their $'s and get their money back too? fishy fishy :love:

If you buy via PA, and follow all of PA's guidelines you will be safe and fine (from scams, not bans).

 

right basically what happens is you buy the gold no problem, and when the character comes to trade you the gold he does so again, no problem. as soon as the trades complete you get a message from another player saying 'don't go just now, we need to item switch before you have your order completed to block rwt' and tries to get you to give them the gold you've just purchased.

its very strange that as soon as you've completed the gold buying trade, another character messages you asking for it literaly that second. how else would they know you just bought gold? thats why i believed they did it as a ploy to try and dupe your gold back + have proof they sold it to you so they still recieve their payment.

 

Sounds very odd, but this guy is very highly vouched and done thousands of trades that is very weird!
I would not deviate from PA guidelines AT ALL and not trade the gold which you have rightfully purchased to anyone.
If you've traded with him successfully with no problems, I'd keep on doing it, but don't stray from PA guidelines to ensure safety.
Not sure why a seemingly legit seller would do something like that....

 

thats what i mean, he himself is legit and gave me my gold within seconds, but its to strange someone tries to dupe the gold back instantaniasly. it just means if you give it back in the off chance, they get away with gold and $

when i questioned him on it he just gave me some pale excuse about people sometimes following him. still, strange

 

waw, to even further strengthen my arguement, this other account begging for me to come back and 'untag their ip from the gold' referred to me as 'kinks95' which has only been giving to magicgoldseller from my playerauctions. theres no possible way a random chancer could know that.

Most well known sellers on PA will tell you straight up, "We will NEVER ask for your gold back."

Obvious scammers are obvious.

Once you've said it's been delivered it's not a PA matter anymore.

 

he does say it, but i think they just take their chances in the hope some dafty does and they're not liable.

 

I fell for this the first time I bought gold. It is of course the seller and once they traded you the money it is not their problem anymore. In other words, once you receive the gold you bought..SPLIT!

 

When I first started playing runescape in like the 4th or 5th grade gold4rs pulled this on me for 10M. Not sure if it was gold4rs themselves or someone who got lucky.

 

It's a well known scam, someone who works with them is doing it, or someone else is following them all around and just pming the people he trades with and hoping they strike it lucky, people have been attempting this scam for 4+ years now lol

 

its very low, especially considering hes the very top gold seller on playerauctions

 

I have done a trade with him in the past and received nothing like this.
Although I did start receiving occasional messages that were advertising gold to me.
It's a legit seller.
