Around the clock OMM Serviec + Market rule addition

Hi guys, a few ideas I had in mind and would like for you guys to take a look at with an open mind.

-First off, I would like to suggest to add a new forum rule for market sales, and that is a rule where you are not allowed to post your e-mail or IM information.

The benefits I see in this is that it will reduce imposters drastically, as what usually happens is lurkers go around adding the MSNs that are posted in, and add them pretending to be someone else, what can be done is that the user who is interested in buying or selling will contact the thread owner to exchange personal information.

-Secondly, the main suggestion that would be a big change, is a service which allows OMM's to deal trades around the clock.

What I mean by this is, every OMM has his own sub-forum, where when the 2 traders are looking for an OMM service, they then get the creation of their own unique thread.

This works by, the traders pay the OMM's fee, and is then left with the Transaction ID, they create their unique thread in their OMMs sub-forum with the Transaction ID in title and what they are exchanging.

Everything in these threads are hidden and can only be seen by the two users and the OMM.

-In the thread there needs to be the Transaction ID, the buyer and sellers username and the link to the thread where it is being sold.

1.With the identification part finished, the OMM will then come around and post in the thread instructing the seller to pm him the information needed.

2.The OMM posts that he has received the information, and then the buyer sends payment and notifies the middleman.

3.The exchange is then done.

The benefits:

-Around the clock, OMMing, where you dont have to wait for the OMM to get online on MSN.

-Trade is done on Sythe.org forums, so if any scam has been caused afterward (like the retrieval of account, the proof is easily found)

-Buyers and Sellers can come to an agreement, and not have to wait for an OMM, I can not count how many times this has happened, where I have agreed to a price with someone, and then we're both like, so we have to wait for an OMM? Well now, there can be around the clock service with the use of Sythe.org forums

-OMM can gain MUCH more money for their services as potential trades that had buyers and sellers waiting for OMMs can now be done.



This was just something on the top of my head, I am open for discussions,tweaks, thoughts and will not take things into heart.

This would make the process 10 longer. Sounds nice and organized in theory, but no one would use it.

 

Yep, its 24/7 service but the process is longer, in the end the trade gets done though.

 

The first suggestion...no. I could give you a multitude of reasons why, but I'm sure other users will rage over such a suggestion. It's ridiculous to penalize someone for giving out their IM address..copying and pasting isn't so difficult.

The second suggestion..I disagree with Plznate. I'd greatly enjoy this, however I'm not sure how permissions would work here...

EDIT: I didn't read thoroughly. I semi-agree with each OMM having his own subforum with the permissions you have listed, but not with the transaction ID posting and verification steps you have outlined, those definitely need adjusting.

 

Idea #1: I don't like this at all. I think that the way it is now is convenient. The seller can choose whether or not they want to post their information. PMing first would reduce the amount of scam attempts, but I think people should be able to choose how they want to run their shops/sales. It's well broadcasted that you should always ask for a PM, so for those reasons, I don't like this rule suggestion.

Idea #2: I see no way that a system like this would be implemented, or for that matter, widely used. You had a well thought out idea, so kudos for that. The process would take ages and schedules would clash. You have three people involved and you could be waiting for days to complete the trade because it's hit or miss. It's not like we can expect the OMMs to be at our disposal and just be ready for these threads at any time. And to add on to this, I think permissions would be a big problem. Not something you can just set up quickly.

 

I think NOT posting your email address will increase impostors a lot. If I didn't post my MSN, there could be a [email protected], @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, @anything.com really. Nobody would know it was the real me, which means that requesting a PM would just be much more important.

As for the OMM idea--I don't think anybody would be willing to "sign up" for a mandatory shift. I know I wouldn't. My life is busy enough without adding mandatory times that I have to be on Sythe.

 

I think the idea is that it would be a rule that you can't so people wouldn't go adding possible impostors without actually PMing with the person selling the goods. I see what you mean though, it could still happen.

I'm still against both ideas.
