A warning about when you pick a username at the registration page.

At first I would think it is unnessecary because most people use common sense when they're registering on a forum/game etc.

Unfortunately alot of people seem not too happy with their name and like to change it, so if this was implented it could prevent other similiar situations in the future.

I support. I would have chosen a better name if I knew of the name change rule. It will warn others, cause less spam (hopefully) and probably easy to implement so why not?

I'm fine with my name though luckily

 

Keeping a record of changes would be very simple and could located elsewhere then the main user table..

 

It should be pretty common sense that a forum with thousands of active users will not cater to everyone's want to change their username.

No it wouldn't, unless you just want it to be a cosmetic record and have no actual functionality. When someone says keeping track of their previous names we should be able to find all posts they made under that name to make it easier to track down anyone who is scamming or trying to avoid a ban ECT. In order to do this WITHOUT using the usertable you would have to re-write the search function so it doesn't completely tax server of strength. Its either just cosmetic or its too complicated to add.

Are you kidding me I've never been on a site where you can freely change user names a you wish.

I've had mine 4 almost 5 years.
