I like alot of genres but the most extreme metal genres aren't for me, there can be screaming in the songs but not only that.

My favourite ever is a tie between Iron Maiden and Metallica probably.

 

My favorite band is Eluveitie.
I really enjoy the combination of death metal and celtic music and they merged both styles perfectly compared to, let's say Adorned Brood in which the celtic melodies doesn't fit with their black metal style and looks like they just added the melodies after doing their song.

Their first album is definitely Metal. They have some soft songs and some songs I guess you could call hard rock. If they're not Metal then what are they?

It happens a lot. Someone will post Slipknot or some band that everyone hates and it'll turn into a big fight. I'm not getting in a fight though with the guy who said SOAD isn't Metal, just telling him that I'm pretty sure they're Metal.

 

Yeah i would agree with SOAD being metal. Also, I'm not really into Slipknot, but you have to admit Corey Taylor's a pretty badass vocalist.

 

SOAD is alternative or progressive rock if I remember right. Not metal. Just like Mudvayne.

I first heard them on Chronix Metal Radio, the song was Confidence vs consequences and It was beast liked them since, I like how they have the same tinge in each song but each song sounds completly different to the next, they're unique.

Please let's not get into any genre arguments, there are so many sub-genres of metal nowadays that every band is debatable.

I don't really like old bands such as megadeath, metallica etc. I don't know why, I just don't.

 

I think all of those except for TDG could be considered metal. Three Days Grace is more grunge-ish i think. Also I LOVE the old metal stuff like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, etc.
