A Sythe Bot

When looking over at Rsbuddy, the only thing that makes them have as many users as they have is the bot portion of it. We could also have a bot portion to this site, and that would have many benefits.

1) Increased revenue/donations from premium scripts. (Could also have a VIP/donator sort of script section)
2) Attract more users to Sythe, and as such have a more active market community than we already have.
3) Would potentially make the programming section more active with scripters wanting to learn.


Cons

1) Would require some experienced programmers time to script the client. (This could make sort of like a new mod position or mods of the programming section could do this)


I will edit this if I think of anything else. And before someone just says denied, please ask first if anybody would be willing to code a client...

 

There used to be a Sythe Powerminer and woodcutter knocking around I believe, but they have died out. Meh, you'd need to get someone TRUSTED to code though, like Govind.

 

it would make the site more active, but it can bring lots of negative things aswell, i wouldn't support this, but i wouldn't mind if a sythe bot was developed, but it probably won't happen.

 

Not sure why this is under suggestions, as the mods can't accept nor deny it, unless one of them decides to make a bot.

It's up to the community for the most part.

Yeah I agree with others, it would definately increase our population but at the same time bring in unwanted people/ things. It would be to much to handle.

 

What negative things would it bring? Possibly corrupt scripts that people write, but for that we could have some people just check the scripts for any malicious code or something.

It wouldn't just have to be Govind, it could be a group project between a pair of developers and Govind could help out and check that none of the programmers go rogue.

What type of unwanted people would it bring in?

 

I don't support that, not because of the bot it self but because botting is a sort of cheating.. so you will be amazed with scammers comming to Sythe website in order to cheat in the game.
In other words, try powerbot markterplace.. you would find the number of scammers 10X the scammers on Sythe.. maybe you got my point!

 

Sythe is a cheating website... 99% of the people on sythe already bot... and most also RWT which is also cheating.

And sythe already has plenty scammers as it is.

 

This would be awesome, but good luck finding programmers that don't intend to scam.

 

A lot of the "activity" on rsbuddy is people making mandatory accounts to use the bot and occasionally make their first 1-3 posts to complain their bot isn't working. I'd prefer new members joining this site because of the community aspect, not just to get bots.

 

Exactly, same with powerbot. People just make their accounts and then ask a question or two about the bots. They really don't have many active members.

Also this shouldn't be under "suggestions" its not a yes or no question. If someone wants to program something they can, but it can't just appear.

It's a good idea, I know Sythe used to have a few bots of it own and the programming aspect of the site used to be really big.

If we can kind of revitalize that, we'd gain a ton of members who use RSBuddy and powerbot.

Honestly even if there was a Sythe bot client and kikko came over here to sell iDung it might create a ripple effect, I don't know.

So make Sythe into a RsBuddy rival?
If someone was actually able to design a botting client like RsBuddy and we could get some scripts up.. that would be incredible. Each new script written would have to be reviewed for anything sketchy of course.
Plus extra revenue!
