A Question About Scam Accounts

Hello everyone, I was just added by someone through discord claiming to be the global moderator "Champ". He said that he couldn't message me or reply to the conversation I created with him for verification because my account is "less than one month old". He then also declined my request when I asked him to @ me in a thread, instead just deleting me. Is this a real thing? That people can't message me until my account is one month old? The reason I was being so careful is because I'm fairly new to the website and I'm trying not to lose my account to a scam.

Edit: The reason I did not want to click through his signature to add him is because the Skype account may be compromised.

No, it's not a real thing. As far as I know, you can send PM's right when you sign up and a Global Moderator shouldn't have any issue with requests like that. Smart choice by not clicking the link but you should join the official Discord so you know who's who.

Yeah was definitely a scam. Anyone can send a PM as long as you’re not DNT which I currently have now lol. Always ask for a PM and if they can’t provide one then delete them.
