What's the meaning of life to you?

I would like to read some posts of your opinion guys, in what is the meaning of life to you, i really appreciate all the posts that you guys made, some of them are just amazing like always!

 

Quite honestly, I see no meaning in life.
Life is a freak coincidence that happened because well, it just happened. Eventually, even if the "big crunch" does not occur, the universe will suffer heat death, in which case there will be no movement whatsoever. (Assuming the universe stops expanding at some point). And even before that, the human race will be long gone. Most races have only lived on earth for very short periods of time. Why would we be any different? Yes, we may last slightly longer because of our technology, but otherwise, our race is not immortal.

 

to have the most fun i possibly can an as many memories built up as possible.

 

Life is just what I want it to be.

Education - Job - Marriage- Family.

Not much too it. Life for me is just a checklist with unlimited goals until death basically.

 

No definitive meaning; it is what you make of it. You live life and then you die; that's it.

 

Life's meaning is what you make it out to be. That's why it's so wonderful.

 

For me it's seeing the world when you are young. That doesn't mean you leave the school. Theres so much different stuff you can do together when you are young and curious. I say live the life when you are young but don't skip the duties and responsibilities.
Not sure what I want to do when I'm older but my own house in the beautiful nature seems to be something to look forward to.

 

The meaning of life is to prove yourself worthy to go to heaven.

In my opinion, I think the meaning of life is too make the most and best of it, and try to always enjoy every second of it, and to try to stay positive and have good energy, and too always love everyone, no matter what. Karma's a bitch, and she will always have the last laugh.

 

This touches on the fact that nothing is permanent, correct, however theories of universal expansion differ greatly and therefore there is no one conclusion to be drawn. The 3 main theories however are the possibility of a big crunch, the possibility of the cessation of expansion, or the possibility that the universe will keep expanding. Evidence due to the Doppler Effect actually suggests that the universe is expanding at an increasing rate.

I wonder however, how you managed to draw the conclusion that everything is a coincidence as well. Most of your post was the usual nihilistic stuff, but there's no actual way to know for sure. Perhaps the deists are right, perhaps the Christians, Muslims or Hindus are right. Either way, one's a fool I guess.

Where my opinion differs is that I am newly involved with Buddhism, so while I'm still learning my ideas of the universe are changing a great deal. Buddhism, like Nihilism admits impermanence, however Buddhism provides meaning. Rather than focus on the fact that everything's going to some day cease to exist, focus on happiness for oneself and ones peers.

Therefore, for me the meaning of life is the end of suffering, sadness and discontentment, and to be happy.
