Simple Dungeoneering Boss Tip

The Gluttonous beast eats right?
you have to get it it's way, right?

Nope!

You can place the Gatestone in the way, idk why, but it works.

I died and it was placed there, i expected to come back finding it full health, but, no, the gatestone blocked it form the food!

I can see this as usable when one person is left from a party of two on this boss, this would be the only way to beat it.

Or, it could be that it doesn't eat when there isn't anybody there... if so >_<

EDIT: could a mod change the title to "Gluttonous Beast Boss Trick" instead of "Boss Trick"

Damn, this is useful for soloing, or when I end up dunging with my really low-level friend (like seriously he's level 46 or something, I'm a 131) and we run into this boss.

Gonna need to remember this.

 

pretty sure if you solo only one pile anyway ;P

 

Has anyone Verified it yet? It seemed to work but it could be that when nobody is in the room with the gluttonous beast it doesn't eat.

I'm busy Prestieging right now so i haven't gone back to try and verify.

if it DOES work, perhaps we should try other things like fires and vials.

EDIT:

In case you guys haven't figured it out, im a DE junkie... the last 250+ levels on my main were all done down there. (including RC from 13 to 27 LOL - Yes that is an insane amount of RC down there.) (and i am total level 600 something)

Nice find, its really handy if you do solos

 

Perhaps for Protect Prayers this is useful as well, if it is hanging by a carcass that is blocked by the gatestone/fire then you only need protect from range prayer. (if oyu are a mage/range, both of which are more vulnerable to melee or range than magic)
