A New Scam Method in the Gaming World: Beware! @rsgoldstore

    Hello everyone,

Today, I'd like to share an incident of fraud that I experienced in the Old School RuneScape game between August 20th and August 31st.

    SCAMMER'S DISCORD: [IMG]

Unfortunately, deception is quite common globally. I work in the game buying and selling sector, and I started playing Old School RuneScape in February 2024 for trading purposes. After learning the mechanics and structure of the game, I decided to get into account and in-game currency trading.

I joined several Discord channels dedicated to account trading and gold supply. In the Samurai Gold & Services channel, I posted about the account I was looking for. Shortly after, a Discord user named @RSGoldStore messaged me, claiming to sell accounts through his own Discord channel. He also mentioned that he had a $500 voucher on Sythe and hundreds of successful transactions. However, I failed to realize that the Sythe website was a fake with a .app domain.

Here's a note for you: Always check the authenticity of any website before making any transactions.

After staying in contact with @RSGoldStore for a while, I wanted to buy an account for my client. He offered me an account for $550, but I noticed that the price was too low. Later, I reached out to him again to purchase gold. He sold me gold at a rate of 1M / $0.170. The first transaction went smoothly, but during the second transaction, he refused to deliver 200M gold, claiming that his account might get banned.

screenshot of him telling me how to play the game and how to deliver gold:
(He taught me to make the delivery from the account he opened for me. so these 2 accounts belong to him. he also bought a membership on the account he opened for me.)

To gain my trust further, he showed me how to make in-game deliveries and where I should be located in the game. However, during this process, I noticed that he was slowly deleting our messages. When I asked why, he said it was "for security."

Finally, I paid $320 for 2B gold and waited for the delivery. While checking our messages, I noticed he was still trying to delete them. In the end, he sent me a message saying, "I scammed you. We created a fake Sythe website."

The lesson I learned from this incident is that it's crucial to be extremely cautious in all online transactions, and scammers are always one step ahead. Always stay vigilant against fraudsters.

I am glad I copied the last message he wrote to me and I will send you a copy of it.

There are also a few videos of our discord conversation, I recorded them as proof. I may add them in the future.

let's come to the closing :)

Let's take a 320$ loss. Our health is not important. I will give you some advice on this experience I have had so that you do not experience such events.

    - Since your trade is also digital, research that product before purchasing a product (such as price, market situation).

    - If you are going to buy game products, research that seller on platforms that have existed for years (review their reviews on websites such as sythe, trustpilot, reviews and conversions in their trade. if the person you will buy the product from is not on such platforms, avoid them!)

    - if you don't want to deal with such situations at all, there are websites that mediate the trade of players, try to buy through those sites. (on these websites, you need to confirm the order after the seller delivers the product you purchased to you, and the seller also needs to take a screenshot or screen video to declare that he has delivered it to you, on the contrary, if the buyer opens a dispute on this mediating website, the buyer is always right).

    - In the game trading industry, the customer is always in the most harmful situation. because even if the seller does everything right, if an unexpected situation occurs, the customer is in a negative situation.

    - trade for osrs and r3 game through sythe.org. this place is reliable. both sellers and customers know each other very well.

    - In order to learn a business, you need to lose, you cannot progress without losing.
As I said, although I have experienced such events, I do not want you to face such events in the future. always manage yourself. do not rely on other people's word.

    good forums....
