How to make your avatar a .GIF

Well recently I've been seeing a lot of threads asking how people can make their avatar a .Gif, saying when they do it it simply shows 1 frame of the animation. There's a very simple answer and solution to this :)

These forums are quite horrible at resizing .Gifs, so when they do it only resizes 1 frame of the animation. What you need to do to make your .Gif avatar work is simply resize it ! Note: Some of the resizing websites require you to have the .Gif on your computer, if thats the case simply drag and drop the .Gif to your desktop.

    Steps

    1. Select the .Gif you want to use as your avatar, for this guide ill simply be pulling a random one. Ive chosen this:

    2. Find a .Gif resizing website, I'll be using :THIS: If you have problems with that resizer feel free to Google a different .Gif resizer to use.

    3. Once your there it's pretty straight forward, it should look like this

    4. Select your .Gif you want to resize using the Choose File button

    5. Select the Scaling Factor drop down bar, and make sure it's on Manual Resize.

    6. If your a normal Sythe member, your maximum avatar size is 80 by 80 pixels, If your a donator your maximum avatar size is 150 by 100 pixels. Enter those correctly into the Width and Height blanks.

At this point it should look like this if your a normal member

Or this if your a donator

    7. Now simply click the Send button !

Your new image, along with the original image will be displayed at the bottom of the page! Click on the resized .Gif to download it, then use it as your avatar. ( It will download in a Zip file, so have something to extract it with, I suggest Winrar )

Hope this helped anyone having problems, if you have suggestions for any future guides Post here or PM me !

I liked the guide meeder1. Although fairly short, it still gets the point across, and also it is a guide about a fairly common problem that we have here on sythe. I also have seen people having problems with having .gifs as their avatars, and so hopefully this guide will be able to help them along the way.

As for the actual look of the guide it looks fairly bland. It would be nice if you could kind of brighten up some colors with the guide to make it easier to read and also look better as a whole. Just remember not to over do it with these types of things. The whole entire guide is centered which may be fairly annoying to some, but acceptable.

Overall it's a nice guide, that's short and simple yet gets the point across. Keep the good work up and also thanks for the guide!
