A Guide to Starting Up Late on Deadman Mode.

As I was walking past Lumbridge while questing, I noticed far too many people being discouraged from playing because they were so far behind everyone. I've decided to make a short guide on how you can start Deadman mode and progress to the later stages of the game, albeit still being behind depending on how dedicated you are.

Starting off as a level 3, you get to decide where you'd like to spawn on the main island. You'll notice you can protect TWO combat stats and THREE skilling stats on death. This means that when you die, experience from these skills will NOT be taken. We will use this to our full advantage by making sure we only train skills we have protected in order to minimize losses.

You'll want to start off the game by protecting Strength and HP (HP is by far the most important skill you'll want to protect). Because you only lose 25% of your XP while unskulled, it is a lot easier to progress with the melee method as you do not lose much attack if you stay under level 30 attack. Once you have decent enough strength and 30 attack, you'll want to camp chaos druids or thugs for some money to start off.

Even though this guide is nothing special, I really do recommend you giving Deadman mode a shot if you've been skeptical. I started playing to PK, but even training and progressing has become fun due to the XP rates and the fun community some clan chats provide.

I hope you the best of luck on being a dead man!

(I made this guide at 6AM, please ignore any spelling errors or the such.)

A few clarifications here and there would be nice, but it looks fine. Would recommend adding a bit more, such as what to do after thugs/chaos druids.

Yeah, I like the thought in behind it but just maybe if you could elaborate a little more beyond like what you should be using the money from chaos druids for and investing in. That would really help alot. Thanks :)

This is an alright guide for a basic start off, maybe include some more details and images to keep people interested?

I started off an alternative way however it all works.

I mean doesnt matter when you start the game will most likely just end up the same way. Clans running the game, suiciders becoming stronger (dark bow etc) soon it will be impossible to play for a noob player especially trading. But not to put anyone off the game is great fun but I feel that that it will die soon rather than later.

I thought range and magic were the best combat skills to train, rather than strength / attack?

If you can get your hands on some arrows/runes, yeah lol. This is to make some starter cash without swapping like many people do.

Simply click the "What I keep on death" button in the equipment menu, then click the stats you'd like to protect. You can only protect two combat stats and three skilling stats.
